Wanted Azzaro 2016 Eau de Toilette

Despite Azzaro being one of the french houses that releases masculine fragrances on a regular basis on the market it has been 10 years that it does not invest in something with pretensions to be a pillar within their line, a perfume with major investment in marketing and advertising and with a release that did not spare money to impress the press and influential in the virtual world. This is a good indication that the brand would not risk in aromatic territories that could be a fiasco or linger years to fall in the tastes of the audience (such as iris in Dior Homme or agarwood in YSL M7). And indeed Wanted to just strive to, as its name indicates, be desired / appreciated by a large audience, which in my opinion is geared more to a man between 25-35 years.

Wanted in a way bet in what is today the role that aquatic scentes were in the 90s: the musky woody fragrance of citrus touches. The brand invests in a special extraction sicilian lemon and combines with a fresh aldehydic touch and a moderate aquatic aspect. The most interesting part is that the lemon accord for some angle sometimes reminds you of a pineapple at the right point of juiciness. Like many modern men's fragrance, the transition is not very marked for the base notes, keeping the water fresh citrus aspect of the opening with a transparent and bright floral aroma and a controlled tonka sweetness. Finally, we have a combination of musks and synthetic materials of vetiver and ambergris which create a pleasant base but no specific definition of any raw material.

Wanted is not the kind of scent that excites me because it all seems too studied to be very nice, very easy to please. But however, there is a certain elegance that he has and is aligned with the advertising campaign in the James Bond styke. Sometimes its smell brings me the elegance of Prada Amber Pour Homme but without the complexity of it. However, compared with a perfume like Dior Sauvage, Wanted is saved by in no time sound so generic to the point of looking like a deodorant or a cheap perfume. It is an unerring aim at pleasing (even without excited) and that, in my opinion, is likely to be a success for the brand.

I've got samples of all the currently available Wanted variations. I'd like to get one of the bottles for my collection and am looking for the one that I could at least wear. So, starting out with the first, Wanted EdT, it didn't take long to realize my choice will not be this one.

It's pretty easy to describe Wanted EdT - it's a mediocre fougere with a synthetic apple on top. That's it. Longevity wasn't bad for an EdT - I got at least 8 hours out of it before it was down to a weak skin scent. Projection was moderate for the first hour and then pulled back.

The fragrance is not bad in the sense of being a scrubber, which it isn't. It's OK, average and nothing special. Strikes me as masculine and pretty versatile - good for most occasions, any time of the day or night, throughout the year, hot or cold. At $50 at discounters for 100ml, the price is reasonable. If you like it, go for it but I'm hoping the later releases are better.

Versatile fragrance, with a youthful approach, that performs well during the day and in between seasons.
It touches many spectra, it has citrus, a fruity part with a green apple that I notice a lot in its early stages, it is fresh, it is sweet and it also has a woody part.
It has good longevity for an EDT and a trail that starts out strong but retracts to moderate.
It does not invent anything new, but it is designed to please in general.

I honestly don't know why a lot of people don't like the scent! to me it's very good, but of course not a great one that will blow my mind! I would prefer it over Blue light or Versace Eros for summer days as it's not very known. For me, when it dries down, it gets to a synthetic smell of Mango, but maybe it was just my impression.
I did not buy it because I do not want to wear something that a lot of people hate :) However, I still think it's a good one for summer!

Surprised this is so low. I think the flankers just really embarrassed this scent into the floor. I have the first week release, nothing wrong with it to me. Layers soooo well with almost any gourmand, especially mugler. Easy to wear scent. Nothing special but fun and potent. Mugler pure coffee specifically with wanted on top, gotta say, really rocked my world the other day! Adds new depth the PC and spices up AW!
