My Goodnight Scent # 3
It’s always the same: It takes a little effort for me to spray on Pure Pastel Mint. The initial, artificially sweet scent must be endured.
But this soon fades, and after a good quarter of an hour, Pure Pastel Mint (the EdT) rewards me with a gentle and "digestible," calming, hand cream-like cloud, interwoven with a hint of marjoram. Everything is very fine and bright. The scent impressions approach me cautiously. And never all at once: sometimes I perceive almost shy flowers waving to me from the background as soon as they are noticed, but they quickly turn around and giggle, disappearing into the back of the cloud; then it’s again this delicate, yet serene and sublime marjoram note that instills incredible trust in me. That’s also the aspect I particularly like about it, which is why I’ve added it to my collection. Nothing about it is loud (except for the sugar at the beginning ;-) hehe), and it doesn’t last very long on me.
Pure Pastel Mint doesn’t step onto the grand stage in terms of craftsmanship and quality, but it unfolds its unassuming magic in a small setting for those who are receptive to such subtle tones and don’t set high standards here.
I appreciate it best in private and quiet moments, especially as a bedtime scent (yes, sometimes I feel like having a fragrance companion for the horizontal retreat from the day and transition into the realm of dreams). For this "application area," besides Pure Pastel Mint, my most frequently worn favorites are Caron "Pour un Homme de Caron" and especially Gucci "Gucci pour Homme II"; hence "Number 3."
One last note: My favorite Indian restaurant uses a few drops of rose water for the mango lassi, just enough to slightly "tint" the flavor, enlivening it. I have a similar perception here with the rose note in Pure Pastel Mint. But like with the other components, it’s very subtle and sometimes more, sometimes less prominent.
My appreciation of the scent is somewhat clouded by the initial wall of sugar, and the "small appearance" with the described limitations is also taken into account. Thus, I land in the range of 6.0 - 7.0.
