The panda at the dentist
Pandas are droll, somewhat chubby and simply cute animals. They spend the day sleeping and eating a lot. I would like to be a panda in my next life, please. They shovel in up to 18 kg of bamboo and if they don't, they fall into a food coma... did I mention that I would like to be a panda? Their habitat is generally humid and low - NRW: check- rather cool in summer - NRW: ch... hold on no the third circle of hell is more like it. In view of the fact that temperatures of around and over 30°C are forecast for the coming days, I'm screening my fragrance collection from the point of view of "refreshing, not too heavy, just not sweet, also works in high humidity"
The combination of bamboo and lotus has a slightly tropical feel and is perfect for summer. It's a welcome alternative to the usual citrus fruits of all kinds in the opening and always reminds me of a waterfall in the green jungle. I have no idea what it smells like in "real life", I've never been to one, but that's how I imagine it.
I like to call this mixture green-aquatic. So it's actually turquoise. Here garnished with white speckles: 802 starts mildly green with bamboo and lotus, no tart or herbaceous green. Could also be aloe. A hint of cucumber, which is not in there at all... this delicate wateriness.
I perceive the base to be more freesia-dominated than rose-dominated. I would even have guessed a little neroli. Minimal floral sweetness, no sugariness. Soft white ambrette/musk base. NO wood in the base, which makes the whole story less harsh and more suitable for the ladies in my eyes.
Somewhere between an aloe vera cream shower and a refreshing wipe. When it's so hot outside that you throw slices of lime and cucumber into your mineral water, I like 802.
The fragrance reminds me a little of Green Tea Bamboo with the difference that the 802 lasts much longer on me, the Arden fragrances are better body splashes. But both are similarly subtle in their silage. Cucumber also goes slightly in the same direction, but is even more cucumbery, as is "Clean Reserve H₂Eau Collection - Water Lotus | Clean".
The bottles in the range are kept rather simple and are easy to classify thanks to simple color coding. I would have chosen light turquoise instead of dark petrol, but okay.
So what do the panda and my dentist have to do with each other? Whenever the nice lady at the professional dental cleaning has sandblasted my teeth to a high gloss with this abrasive paste and you're finally done with all the spraying, scratching and rubbing, you're handed a slightly damp cotton cloth at my dentist's office to wipe any splashes off your face. Otherwise, Batman's Joker sends his regards. This disposable washcloth smells wonderfully fresh of aloe, bamboo, cucumber, whatever and is slightly floral - and in my opinion almost like 802 Pivoine Lotus Bambou
