Another Fruitchouli...
Upon initial application, Brecourt AVENUE MONTAIGNE reminded me of a dozen other sweet florientals--specifically of the sandalwood vanilla variety. The quality struck me as similar to ELLEN TRACY, in other words, designer fare. All of this proves once again that notes are metaphors, it seems to me...
As the perfume dried down, I warmed up to it a bit (I use past tense, because my small sample is now exhausted), but to be honest not all that much. There is a fruitiness, and a musky patchouli, and I do think that it smells all right, but it reminds me of something like a cross between The Body Shop LOVE ETC and MIDNIGHT BAKULA. The fruits are somewhat vague, the patchouli is musky and sweet. It's definitely okay, but not exceptional and nothing that I need, given that I own but rarely wear LOVE ETC and MIDNIGHT BAKULA...
