Rivières de Cartier - Luxuriance Cartier 2021

Somewhere in Corsica, at Mamie Claudine's house.
Her home is surrounded by various Mediterranean flora and fauna.
It's late spring, and everything is blooming and smelling so special.
She is a petite and gentle woman, with a frown line right in the middle of her forehead. Her hair is tightly tied back. The laugh lines adorn her beautiful face and reveal how much she enjoys laughing. Her voice is soft and calm, and her body movements are marked by slight pain in her left hip. Still, she doesn’t let it show.
She is a proud woman who sees through everything quickly. Her whole life, she has done nothing but take care of the family and cook well. Her kitchen is her domain, and she doesn’t let anyone into her kitchen because she wants to have complete control over the entire cooking process.
In the kitchen, it smells of rosemary and wild herbs. The colorful, diverse vegetables from her garden, the many orange and lemon trees, the mandarin and almond trees, the olive trees, and wild pistachio plants
(Mastic). The many herbs and wild herbs from her herb garden, all of this is her realm. She tends, waters, and talks to her garden.
Every now and then, she takes her lunch break under an oak tree.
And her flowers, the beautiful roses and geraniums that stretch magnificently in the sun, are what the old lady is particularly proud of.
They are her entire adornment, their scent transports her back to her youth.

This fragrance blend of fresh, green, and citrusy notes, with warm and slightly woody notes, along with a hint of Mediterranean wild herbs and floral notes creates a pleasant summery mood.

Here I see my old aunt before me, very well-groomed and well-read, just having emerged from a pine bath and, wrapped in a fresh silk robe, sinking into her well-padded, green armchair with a current bestseller...

This was the association that the fragrance triggered in me. Since that seems too trivial as a review, here’s an attempt at a fragrance description (I must add that I am not one of those people who can pick out specific scent nuances). So, viewed quite dryly and soberly, the fragrance smells citrus-fresh to me, but also a bit medicinal, reminding me, as I said, a little of the pine bath additive from GDR times, but it also has something elegant and valuable.

Unfortunately, I can't describe it any better or differently.
