Classic Chic
After wearing Allure Sensuelle Eau de Parfum, Allure Sensuelle Parfum, Allure Parfum, and Allure Eau de Parfum, I allow myself to make a slightly more detailed comment.

All four have a class that deserves a tip of the hat. Fresh, fruity, balanced sweet, cuddly, green, balsamic, and so well-balanced, deep, and full; so elegant; that's Chanel for you.
Allure presents itself - according to my nose - as a good deal less earthy/herbaceous than Allure Sensuelle, which I find more pleasant. And the EdP is even more intense than the parfum. So the parfum would be my choice. It is softer and more endearing, rounder, more cuddly, and more pleasing. But perhaps others prefer the EdP precisely for that reason. I also see it not only on women who are advanced in years but also of middle age. Simply a masterpiece - one can't help but rave about it, even if one usually prefers something else.

The Simplicity of Elegance.

Allure was described as such when it was launched in 1996. It made an immediate impact.
However, it was not promoted by stars or highly paid models, but by modern, pretty, yet unknown women.
As early as 1974, Chanel had introduced a fresh, clear, and vibrant scent with Cristalle.
In 1996, Jaques Polge (and at that time, in my opinion, he was much more creative than today) aimed to create an elegant, floral, feminine fragrance that is both simple and sophisticated.
Allure has also managed to be named one of the 100 legendary fragrances.
A light mandarin note serves as the opening, which quickly transitions to a bouquet of jasmine, honeysuckle, water lilies, and other flowers that only grow in Grasse.
A hidden iris adds a slightly distinct powderiness.
A hint of green vetiver oil and sparingly used vanilla complete the composition.
Allure was meant to be provocative, yet conservative, flirtatious but also morally correct. According to Coco Chanel's earlier statement, it was for a woman who felt like a woman but lived like a man.
Even today, Allure is presented in the elegant glass bottle. I describe the pure perfume as vintage and do not know how many dilutions the current Allure has undergone.

I was done with the EDP and EDT, way too scratchy! The perfume is so different: soft, melting, and sooo long-lasting! Beautiful!

As an extrait, it's simply divine. I always get compliments on how good it smells. I could bathe in it, even though 1 drop is enough.

Dressed in rose petals, powdery-vanilla dusted and creamy mandarin shines elegantly with Chanel's understated style. Chic!

Softer, sweeter, and less perfumey than the EdP. A floral-vanilla dream with a splash of fresh mandarin, elegant and lovely at the same time.

A wonderfully soothing surprise: a pointed kickoff with a light spritz, then you sink into a floral dream with sandalwood velvet!

No resemblance to the EdP at all. It's like a mix of Nahema and Samsara with a strong sandalwood emphasis, even though S. isn't listed here.

Gentle citrus fruits go hand in hand with the blossoms: the finest May rose and honeysuckle bring in subtle tension - rounded & exquisite!
