Squeaky clean skin, Freshly laundered clothes
Because I am enamored with Chloe Love and Eau de Fleurs Capucine, I am making my way through Chloe fragrance line. Next up ... Eau de Fleurs Lavande.

The opening is nice but a bit over-powering and artificial. Eau de Fleurs Lavande is not the masculine lavender that I feared, the masculine lavender which is common in fragrances such as Roger & Gallet Lavande Royale. However, Eau de Fleurs Lavande isn't overtly feminine or floral either. Instead, it has a neutered characteristic that is consistent with Yankee Candle room sprays & BBW air fresheners.

As it dries, Chloe Lavande melts with my skin and becomes a soapy, clean scent. It has a slight sweetness to it, and I sense vanilla and sandalwood although neither are listed. I get a bit of violet, some green and citrus, also the musk in the base. However, the clean, soapy aspect defines the scent, not the lavender accord & supporting notes. Someone looking for fragrance like a lavender flower may be disappointed with Eau de Fleurs Lavande. In that case, I'd instead recommend an aromatic lavender oil, or exploring a soliflore such as Demeter Natural Lavendar which is vintaged by harvest year.

Eau de Fleurs Lavande is marked EdP & wears like an EdP but has the presence of a dried down cologne. Lavande actually passed the overnight test. The next morning the scent was barely on my skin as a whisper, but as my skin warmed and as I moved about, I could smell Lavende wafting up from where it was applied. So, Lavande -- especially when over-sprayed -- has longevity; it just doesn't have a lot of sillage.

Chloe Lavande strikes me as a skin scent. The color of the juice is a barely there beige, which seems quite appropriate for the fragrance. I think it would work well for the office or for bedtime. It also would work well on those days when, for whatever reason, you just don't want to smell like much of anything.

Chloe Lavande is a fragrance that fits within the American aesthetic of squeaky clean skin and freshly laundered clothes. If I didn't know any better, I would have guessed that the juice in this vial was B. Clean Relax by Benetton, although the Chloe is better quality and more complex.

Discreet lavender
I'm in two minds over this fragrance. Eau de Fleurs Lavande is beautiful in a discreet and natural fashion, however I think I'd prefer it much more if it was slightly stronger, like Eau de Lavande by Annick Goutal perhaps.

The top notes are when the lavender note is at its most prominent in the composition. It jumps off the skin in a feminine and watery way, somewhat aromatic, but also quite understated. I liked the opening the best.

The heart tended to become more discreet and airy, with subtle tea notes, zesty bergamot and fresh violet leaves complimenting the core. The rich lavender diminishes slightly, a little too soon in my opinion.

The sweet almond accord, although unique and pleasant, disappointed me as I wanted more aromatic lavender rather than sugared nuts. I think this fragrance is so focused on smelling elegant and refined that it loses a lot of its character and rawness.

Eau de Fleurs Lavande started off as my favourite from this series, however by the drydown it's my least favourite. It's just too fleeting for me and I grew tired of it far too quickly. I acknowledge its purity and softness, but for me it was a little boring and forgettable.

The Confectionery
Well, first of all, I strongly considered whether to write any comments at all. Here, there are non-commenters who think they have to leave a negative "comment" on every post but don't have the guts to address anyone directly. As long as they can throw in their two cents or press DR out of spite. Well, I think I can rise above that.

I received Eau de Fleurs Lavande from a lovely perfumer after my first Parfumo meeting in Munich. Unfortunately, it is now rarely available, and when it is, it’s very overpriced.

Eau de Fleurs Lavande is delicate and "purple." It immediately reminds me of a lavender field in summer, with a pretty woman standing in the middle. She wears a white, flowing dress and a white straw hat adorned with a light pink ribbon. Her arms are stretched out to the sides, and her palms touch the tips of the lavender flowers.
At first, EdFL smells cool and very much of tea. Slightly bitter and a bit sour.
Then it quickly becomes creamy, soft, and silky. As if you are looking at the display of a confectionery, where pralines lie waiting to be tasted and purchased. You can almost taste each one.
I mean that creaminess, the slightly "fatty" glaze before you bite into the interior.
Not sweet - just creamy. Do you know lavender pralines? An acquired taste, but delicious. Lavender, delicate, fine, and Mediterranean.
EdFL then becomes increasingly clingy and hugs the skin like a second layer. Cashmeran, soft and flowing, musk for the well-behaved "animal" in you, and vetiver and cedar for the fluffy herbal-green.
You can wear this scent anywhere, at any time of day. It is gentle, unobtrusive but present and elegant.
Almost girlish - although that sounds a bit too playful. Let’s put it another way... for a shy woman who wants to awaken the protector instinct, it’s just right.
But of course for anyone else as well. A very fine fragrance. Lavender is the dominant note, but without a whip!

Delicate Lavender
Eau de Fleurs Lavande is a delicate, uncomplicated floral scent with a light (!) lavender focus.
I find it to be a typical Chloe - soft, floral, fresh. I am almost inclined to call it an innocent flower, but that does not do it justice. The fragrance is excellently composed, no note overwhelms the other, none stands out sharply; all components gently blend into a beautiful harmonious veil of scent, semi-transparent and enveloping. A quiet, gentle companion for all occasions. At the same time, it has a certain presence - just not a "whoops, I'm here" presence, but rather a clean, flattering one. This Chloe creation gains depth from warm amber and a soft woody musk note.
The longevity is surprisingly good for such a delicate character - though in a subtle, skin-close way. Even during an 8-hour workday, I didn't feel the need to reapply.
Eau de Fleurs Lavande is a perfume for wearers who do not necessarily want to stand out with a strong scent. It is quiet, harmonious, and supportive.

Unisex Lavender Cream
Usually, I test all new samples I receive briefly on test strips to get a first, very general impression. Then I also enter my initial rating here and mark it as tested. The samples then go into my to-be-tested bowl and are tested on the skin during a day as needed and desired. Sometimes, I also test them over 2-5 days before writing the review, depending on how quickly I can access the perfume. Eau de Fleurs Lavande had slipped all the way to the bottom of this bowl, and I was very surprised to see that I had given it a solid 90% on Parfumo after the first test months ago. It must be my kind of scent. No wonder, I really like lavender.

The name is a bit misleading. Of course, lavender is the (shy) main actor, but it is only through the wonderfully arranged supporting actors, the locations, the composition, and the gentle effects that Fleurs Lavande becomes a recommendable release. The heart is formed by lavender, powdery and creamy, together with buttery iris. Beautiful, not too green, hardly sweet, classic, soft, refined. A light tea note gives the fragrance a slightly smoky-soothing quality, while vetiver and cedar add a slightly rough character and pull the scent away from the feminine corner. Citrus and indefinable floral notes, especially at the beginning, round off the overall fragrant pleasure.

Bottle: looks simple, but extremely fine and elegant.
Sillage: one can hardly speak of real sillage or projection.
Longevity: already better than 7 hours.

A clear unisex scent for me and a pleasant lavender interpretation, which often moves in the gray background, but does so with class and elegance. And for lavender fans, it’s a must-try. It greatly improves my opinion of Chloe and makes me eager to try the other two Eaus from the brand.

A very classic, slightly sweet lavender scent, like the one you can only find today at Harry Lehmann (lavender water).

The most beautiful lavender scent! In the beginning, a lot of fresh lavender, later creamy and delicate. I am heartbroken that it is no longer being produced.

I only smell lavender briefly at first, then it gets composed.... complicated.... powdery, iris? It doesn’t smell natural anymore...

Delicate lavender that gradually fades into powderiness. In the end, only an indefinable scent veil remains.

Lavender praline --> A lightly tangy tea that quickly transforms into a creamy, delicate lavender treat with gentle musk. Elegantly feminine.
