Leathery-sweet smooth vetiver
Interesting/weird combination of creamy sweet leather and woody/earthy vetiver. I think the name should have been "violet leaf and vetiver" rather than "magnolia and vetiver" (not sure that I'm translating the French "au" correctly but I think that's what they're getting at anyway); the leathery effect of the violet leaf far overpowers any green floral magnolia. Kind of the same vibe as the opening of Legend Eau de Parfum, but the mid/drydown go in very different directions. Here there's a lot more sweetness and creamy woods.
It's one of those scents that becomes a skin scent quickly but lasts on skin for a long time. I put on another fragrance after I couldn't smell this one in the air anymore, and I was still perceiving Magnolia au Vetiver d'Haiti after the other scent had completely disappeared.
All in all, disappointing, since I've been trying to find a nice masculine magnolia scent, but this is not it.
