20 daisies a day (is what you need)

Light refreshing. Dried hay, grasses, only very lightly floral, trailing wisps of vanilla. some say light violet, strawberry.. I say is delicate, light, breezy, watery, subtle floral. Lasts less than an hour. Bottle is precious. Price is silly. Try Yardley's Royal English Daisy for the same scent at 1/5 the price, it lasts as long as this too. the new Marc Jabos Dot is similar, lightly fruity instead of lightly grassy.

A perfect dream

I am lying on a beautiful lawn full of flowers, sun is shining. It is warm but still not as hot as in midsummer. A tender cloud is passing by. Birds are chittering. Time is standing still...

Abstract Jasmine and Fruits in a Clear Base

It's been a couple of years since I first reviewed Marc Jacobs DAISY, and it's interesting to take it up again after having encountered many more recent perfumes in this same style. They differ in their sweetness, but they all focus around a clean jasminoid (hedione?) note. I'm thinking of Calvin Klein BEAUTY, Jennifer Aniston's perfume, and DKNY PURE, for starters. It's seems as though there have been many others, as well.

DAISY to me is an average designer fragrance with the now-typical abstract floral and fruity elements. The musk here does not really smell like musk, so it's nothing like NR FOR HER. Instead, it's more of a clear resinous base veering toward the acrylic side. Overall, this is not very appealing to me, but it's not really unappealing either, which is actually something given that the perfumer is Alberto "Chemical Albie" Morillas, who has signed many a scrubber in my book.

Try before you buy. It's entirely abstract, but that's the modern way, I guess. I don't really consider this to be perfume--it's a fragrance--but that's what many people apparently want these days. In addition to plastic flowers affixed to caps, or so it seems...

Daisy

This was my first "real" perfume (a.k.a. my first non-Bath and Body Works fragrance) and the first perfume I really fell in love with. It really shaped my taste in fragrance, as I've been drawn to fruity florals ever since. The bottle design first caught my eye, but once I actually smelled it, I was in love. It's so perfect for spring, I love the floral notes combined with strawberry. It doesn't last super long for me unfortunately and I've found it to be more of an intimate scent, but otherwise, I have nothing bad to say about Daisy.

Light sparkling youthful florals

It may feel boring to some now, but it was hugely popular for a reason and was a favorite of mine when it was released nearly 20 years ago. I don't wear it often now as I tend to enjoy more sophisticated and unusual fragrances at this point in my fragrance journey. But Daisy is crisp and clean and bright and screams youthful cheeriness. It is pleasant and pretty and inoffensive. And there will always be a need for fragrances of that sort. Sillage and longevity are not huge on this one, as to be expected with many light clean frags.
