It's starting again! :-)
Finally.
Finally some Demeter scents again. I just love testing these fragrances and would love to comment on EVERY single one of them. I don't know why, but the Demeter scents are particularly special, partly because they represent a fragrance library. Sure, there are some that could definitely be worn as perfume. However, many are more like smells that are based on something specific or meant to imitate something and can even trigger various memories.
Now and then, there are also some truly dreadful scents among them.
I remember the terrible "Tarnish," where I suffered my worst olfactory trauma so far and rated the scent 1.0 points (back then still 10%). I must be somewhat masochistic if I'm now writing that I'm looking for a Demeter scent that smells EVEN worse than Tarnish, and I even hope to find it someday. But only because it's so much fun to write about truly awful scents.
Now it's time again for a series of scents, where I will try to introduce a Demeter scent here every day (probably during the day, we'll see).
But enough talk. Let's get started with Sour Apple Lollipop, which sounds kind of delicious!
The scent:
My mouth is watering! The scent actually smells like sour apple, but it has a slightly synthetic touch that it can't hide, which isn't a bad thing. However, I can't decide whether the scent actually smells like a lollipop or more like sour apple rings, although I'm leaning more towards the lollipop.
A little later, the scent also smells a bit like a magnesium or calcium tablet dissolved in water, just a bit sweeter smelling perhaps.
Much later, however, the scent no longer smells like sour apples but has a cleaner-like quality, and by then it's definitely time to wash the scent off :D
The sillage and longevity:
The sillage is below average, even though the scent can still be perceived well at the beginning due to the sour notes. However, it can't maintain this level, so you have to get very close to the lollipop-eating scent wearer (or scent wearer) to smell it.
The longevity is average, lasting about five to six hours, although it starts to smell less pleasant after about three hours.
The bottle:
Ah yes, the bottle… Once again, I have one of the unremarkable Demeter bottles in front of me. Rectangular with a clear fragrance liquid and a more than simply designed label. I mean, the label is white (although this time there's a greenish round gradient, that's new!) and has a green bar (which was probably created very quickly in Paint) where the scent name is written. The cap is chrome-plated, tall, and cylindrical.
Well, as I said, not a beautiful bottle.
Sooo,… Sour Apple Lollipop has already made a good impression, as it smells neither disgusting nor "wrong," but really like sour apples, at least for a while.
The scent might even be wearable, but more in casual settings, when you occasionally want to sniff your own arm or something and be reminded of sour apple lollipops or rings.
It's just unfortunate if you end up cursing because you don't have any of those sweet treats at home anymore. Or worse, you only have the arch-enemy of apple rings… the peach rings, sitting in the cupboard… aaargh…
So then, let's see how the others will be, this one was okay. You can test this one,… but you don't have to. Instead, you should try Tarnish, he he he…
