Unearthed Undead
This is what i wanted to expect from demeter's dirt but didn't. Smells like wet soil, mushrooms, moss and dead leaves in a forest. Very earthy and lovely scent, not everyone will get it, but it fulfills my need for an earthy fragrance I can layer over anything to bring out more soil! Perfect for cold, foggy and wet autumn mornings, will be adding this to my autumn tray!

P.S it layers quite nice with encre noire!!

Why is this getting out of stock!
I wanted to try so bad also Zombie for Her and Zombie for Dog but I've never found those. I am happy I had a 30ml of this, anyway. I really like the muddy feeling of this one, it's a realistic scent of going between the undergrowth and bushes, after a very rainy day... The only bad thing I can say about Demeter is that they don't last at all, but they always have some interesting formulas. This is so comforting to me somehow, I'm saving the last drams of it like a treasure.

Forest mushrooms and dirt at its best
I was on the hunt for the most photorealistic dirty forest floor scent. I tried many amazing niche creations, bought some, loved and revered some. They were all fragrances though, beautiful creations and none of them had the pure realism I was looking for.

Enter Zombie for Him and upon first sniff I realised why nobody else made such a photorealistic dirt scent: it’s unwearable. This is an amazingly accurate recreation of picking mushrooms in the forest, the smell of dirt, wood and decay is crazy and everyone loves to sample my bottle because it’s just bonkers. It is so accurate that it simply smells bad, but I guess that’s the point of it, I do feel like a zombie stinking up the place. Luckily projection is absent and the perfume fades away from your skin crazy fast. In 30 minutes you’ll forget you even sprayed it on.

Dry down is interestingly savoury, turned into a slice of mushroom pizza on several of us. Quite the experience.

It’s a fun, cheap novelty bottle that I had to have in my collection but I won’t be spraying it daily. I might play with some layering, it’s not every day one gets their hand on such a photorealistic creation!

Moldy Damp Forest
As a slightly zombie-philic person who enjoys watching The Walking Dead and sometimes plays Left 2 Dead, I happened to stumble upon this fragrance. The idea of a zombie scent is so utterly crazy that it’s almost cool again. I just couldn't resist and ordered this fragrance from the USA to have it shipped to me.

Today, Zombie for Him arrived, and I immediately sprayed it on my wrist. The first sniff was a big surprise.

Imagine a moldy forest on a cold, rainy night. You're running for your life (or after the living...). There’s a broken branch that you overlooked, you trip and fall face-first right into a muddy pile of leaves. If it were daytime, you would see the mushrooms and all the moss. But you don’t need the light. You think, Sh.... (or maybe you don’t think at all...) and take a deep breath through your nose.

And you smell EVERYTHING....

Leaves... earth... moss... mushrooms...

So the scent is really extremely authentic. I didn’t expect it to be of this quality. Really well done. The theme is perfectly captured.

But what does one do with such a fragrance? It’s actually the opposite of everyday wear. I also don’t feel qualified to rate this scent, as it is truly a very special thematic fragrance.

So anyone who wants to dress up as a zombie for Carnival or Halloween should definitely get Zombie for Him. It doesn’t get much more authentic than this. However, I don’t dare to imagine how the better half will smell with Zombie for Her...

I can also envision other uses, but I encourage the interested reader to create their own fantasies ;-)

In the Forest of the Undead
I ran as fast as I could. Again and again, I looked around anxiously. The leaves rustled under my feet. My quick steps disturbed the damp earth. I didn’t even notice the beautiful mushrooms and the moss-covered dead trees by the roadside. Because I had to flee! Otherwise, I would pay for my curiosity with my life.

I always laughed at the name "Forest of the Undead" for this grove. I thought the legend that zombies roamed here was nonsense. It was said that dozens of people had fallen victim to the zombies in the forest and had disappeared. Of course, I didn’t believe that either. So, one drunken night, I bet my friends that I could cross the forest without any problems.

But now I was no longer laughing. I had been wrong. The undead had tracked me down and were after me. I ran for my life. But suddenly I stumbled. When I looked down, I was staring into the empty eye sockets of a human skull. One of the zombies grabbed me. I pushed him away and tore a small piece of his tattered cloak from him. Then everything went black before my eyes.

"Sir? Can you hear me?"

I opened my eyes and looked around in astonishment. Apparently, I was still alive. And instead of being in the Forest of the Undead, I was now apparently in the emergency room of a hospital. A young doctor looked down at me and smiled.

"You’re probably wondering what happened. Well, you were found unconscious at the edge of the forest. You suffered from poisoning due to the gases that occur in the forest, and apparently, you hallucinated before you passed out."

Exhausted, I closed my eyes. Hallucinations. So I was right! There are no zombies at all. However, the legend had a serious background. The missing people really existed. Apparently, they weren’t as lucky as I was and fell victim to the gases in the forest.

So I had narrowly escaped after all. I triumphantly clenched my fist around a piece of fabric that I had been holding unnoticed the whole time. Then I fell asleep peacefully.

---

Sorry, my passion for writing horror stories got the better of me. But now to the scent.

"Zombie for Him" is my third blind buy from Demeter. And I must say, it is by far the best. However, I would have given the scent a different name.

Because "Zombie for Him" does not evoke associations with zombies at all. Rather, it is a fantastic and very authentic forest floor scent. Initially, the mushrooms dominate, before the other notes, especially leaves and earth, come into play. I would place it in relation to animalic scents.

The all-important question now is: Is it even wearable? In my opinion, yes, absolutely! It is relatively close to the skin. The sillage is not so powerful that one thinks a forest creature has escaped within a 10-meter radius. On the other hand, this scent evokes very nice associations of a forest walk for me. I find it calming and relaxing.

And for those who find it too much forest, they might use the scent for layering. Combined with a slightly sweeter fragrance, it could become more wearable for everyone.

A very good wet soil scent, with mushroom in the opening. It's great, I just wish it lasted longer...

Apparently a vegetarian zombie under autumn leaves ("Graiiins") - brave carnivores layer it with "Charogne," for example.

From the initially mushroom-infested forest floor, a quite pleasant spicy forest scent emerges. Fascinating.

Earth, metallic blood notes, and a hint of sweetness. One could actually imagine that the undead might smell like this. The scent is definitely wearable.

In my opinion, it's quite similar to Dirt. Maybe a bit more pleasing, as far as you can say that about such scents.
The theme is spot on.

Smells like damp, overwatered, rotting potting soil. Exactly as described. Very honest and authentic scent. Phew.

Smells like rotting excrement on mossy forest floor, covered in mold. Concept is successful, but this is not a "fragrance."

The scent smells like fermented dung. It's very extravagant and practically stabs you in the sinuses.
