Lick the Cherry!
Hello and welcome to my latest fragrance commentary. Once again, I have a Demeter scent here. I particularly enjoy testing the fragrances from this scent library because I find them very interesting, and you can find not only beautiful (and normal) scents but also quite extraordinary to even grotesque fragrances.
But today, we're talking about a rather normal scent, namely "Barbados Cherry." This cherry is also known as acerola cherry and grows mainly in the Caribbean, such as in Jamaica and Barbados, where it is eaten by pirates like Jack Sparrow when he’s not busy drinking rum as usual. But it would really do Jack some good to eat a few of these cherries now and then, as they are a true vitamin C bomb and should therefore be considered healthy. Yes, you learn something new here, right? :D
But there’s not much more to say about this fruit, so I’ll keep it brief and move on to the scent description :)
This is actually a bit strange since the Barbados cherry is supposed to taste rather sour, and even the juice of this fruit is mixed with other, sweeter juices. In any case, that’s all there is to the scent, as nothing really changes here, and you can smell this cherry from beginning to end.
Well, now I’m getting hungry… and I’ve already gained too much weight over Christmas, ugh… and I still have one or two chocolate Santas lying around. Or also candies… including some with cherry flavor… yes, yes, we all know where this is going… :D
The scent is worth a try if you enjoy such sweet fragrance notes, but there are also many other cherry scents that smell more like actual perfumes, although I can’t think of a single one off the top of my head :D
There’s not much more to say about this scent, so I’ll wrap it up and wish you all a nice evening, until next time then :)

The Scent:
It starts off with the scent of cherries, which come across as fruity, but above all, sweet. However, it’s not really fruity-sweet, but more like the scent of candy. So, it smells like those delicious candy shells (who remembers them? Those candy shells that were cherry-flavored and you could lick endlessly until everything was slobbered and your hand was sticky, uhhh… :D) or also like Hubba Bubba with cherry flavor! This is actually a bit strange since the Barbados cherry is supposed to taste rather sour, and even the juice of this fruit is mixed with other, sweeter juices. In any case, that’s all there is to the scent, as nothing really changes here, and you can smell this cherry from beginning to end.
The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is weak. It starts off bright and is therefore easy to smell at first, but then quickly becomes weaker, which is typical for most Demeter scents. The longevity is also not very high; after two to three hours, it is quite close to the skin, and after another 1-2 hours, it is almost completely gone. The Bottle:
The bottle is rectangular and has a large, ugly label on the front. Ugly because it looks extremely overloaded. Unfortunately, this does not help to make the rather simple bottle appear nicer. Fairly speaking, one must say that Demeter bottles are only functional, as they are meant to be inexpensive containers for so many scents. They are still quite ugly though :DConclusion:
“Hmm, this is delicious!” will surely be one of the first reactions when you smell this fragrance. It really smells sweet and delicious, reminiscent as described of candy (or ice cream and also chewing gum) with cherry flavor, and you might find yourself wanting to smell the scent on your arm again and again. However, the effect fades quickly, as both the sillage and longevity are weak, making the scent not really suitable for going out, as you would have smelled really nice, although you could also decant the scent into a small spray bottle to reapply it. But you should know that you would only smell like cherries; that’s how simple and straightforward the scent is. It can be worn mainly in spring and summer. Well, now I’m getting hungry… and I’ve already gained too much weight over Christmas, ugh… and I still have one or two chocolate Santas lying around. Or also candies… including some with cherry flavor… yes, yes, we all know where this is going… :D
