A Little Man Stands in the Forest…
… to be honest, I don't really know how I came up with my title. As soon as I wanted to write an introduction to Demeter's Log Cabin, the title of a children's song popped into my mind because of the woody, foresty notes. The funny thing is, I don't even really know the song. I can't get further than "Ein Männlein steht im Walde," but I'm just a Turk who has been living in Germany for 30 years and still doesn't know whether it's der, die, or das Bus :D
Well, here comes another Demeter fragrance, bringing me a step closer to my goal of eventually (probably in about 200 years) testing all Demeter scents :D
Additionally, I smell light, earthy notes, which I suspect are patchouli. A little later, the chocolatey notes fade, but some sweetness remains, and the earthy notes really reveal themselves as patchouli in my opinion. Alongside this, there are still the wood notes from the beginning, of which I can mainly identify cedar. In the later base, I had the feeling that it became a bit sweeter again. The earthy notes recede, leaving behind a sweetly warm, woody scent that is very pleasant.
The longevity is good; the scent lasts more than eight hours.
*The Bottle:*
Really? After all the many Demeter bottles I've described, am I supposed to describe the bottle once again??
So,… I somehow imagined the scent a bit differently. Unlike the initial scent description, the woody notes combined with the earthy patchouli do relate a bit to wooden cabins and forests, yet I pictured the scent as more foresty, earthy, and somehow rougher. And especially at the end, the scent is nice and soft, warm, and sweet. On the other hand, perhaps these simple log houses were warm and cozy enough inside, despite their simple construction, to provide a lovely home for settlers where one felt secure. In that case, I would actually find the scent fitting again.
Normally, Demeter fragrances smell like specific things; the brand is essentially like a scent library. However, this scent comes across as quite perfumey and is therefore suitable for wearing, especially in autumn when you enjoy sweet woody scents with earthy notes. However, the scent has become more of a men's fragrance than unisex.
Yes, this one is worth checking out. However, the rather low sillage might throw a bit of a wrench in the works, so in that case, you might prefer to reach for Guerlain's L’Instant pour Homme, which is an excellent men's fragrance (though I recommend the EDT version, as the EDP can be off-putting with its extremely strong anise scent!).

The Fragrance:
The scent starts off quite woody, but it also has a somewhat sweet, almost chocolate-like quality, and it even vaguely reminds me of Guerlain's L’Instant de Guerlain pour Homme (the EDT). With a forest scent or a scent one could imagine in a wooden cabin, it seems to have little to do with that, apart from the woody notes.Additionally, I smell light, earthy notes, which I suspect are patchouli. The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is above average. This means you don't have to get too close to smell the fragrance on someone. If sprayed generously, it even leaves a small scent cloud for a short time. However, the fragrance unfortunately can't maintain this level for very long, so after two to three hours, you have noticeably less of it.The longevity is good; the scent lasts more than eight hours.
