Wood Against Back Pain
I'm slowly running out of Demeter scents. Am I sad? Not really. But it was interesting to test these fragrance notes. I saved the last few scents for the end, hoping to discover something good among them.
With this scent here, I wasn't disappointed, but I had different expectations of how sandalwood would smell.
Fragrance:
At first, it smells both alcoholic and slightly sweet. Then it actually has a somewhat woody scent, so this is sandalwood on its own. But then I find the scent progression a bit strange, or perhaps pure sandalwood really smells like this.
Because after just a few minutes, it becomes minty. Then the fragrance develops further and smells for a while like something very familiar to me. I thought and thought, and then I knew it. It smells almost like Voltaren, the ointment for back pain, a faithful companion at times when the back pain just won't go away. It even has that cooling effect. Towards the end, it becomes a bit warmer and slightly sweeter, and I believe it becomes woodier again and even has a tiny hint of mustiness.
But to be honest, I imagined the scent progression to be a bit woodier.
The longevity is weak; after just an hour, the scent is gone,…
The sillage is average. As long as the scent clings to you, it is somewhat noticeable for a while due to the ointment-like effect.
Bottle not good. No, no,… sticker also not good… no, no, no.
Okay. I had something completely different in mind for sandalwood. I must admit that I have never smelled pure sandalwood in a fragrance, but for me, this scent doesn't smell woody enough. Well, maybe at first it’s a bit warm due to the sweet notes, but later it becomes rather cool because of the ointment and minty notes, until it becomes a bit woody again at the end.
Overall, the scent isn't bad, but you expect something entirely different under this name.
