A very short but very lovely experience.

This smells absolutely divine, intoxicatingly amazing. The smell reminds me of my favourite liquor: butterscotch by De Kuyper. it's sweet, creamy and has not a single note I dislike. But has a longevity of 1 minute. I have to spray myself 5 times just so I’ll smell it for 5-15 minutes. That is such a shame.

Vanilla, perhaps not quite as good as usual...

Yesss, another Demeter fragrance that I am testing here once again. But,… and it really pains me to say this, I only received a single new sample, so there won’t be multiple reviews of Demeter fragrances like before. Instead, it will just be this comment. However, I hope to have tested them all one day….

The scent:
Demeter fragrances are indeed easy to describe, as they usually lack many complex notes and scent development. Here too, with Vanilla Cake Batter, the scent from start to finish really only smells like one thing: Yes, as you might have guessed from the name, (powdery) vanilla. Or vanilla batter, depending on how strictly you interpret it.
However, it smells a bit too sweet. And later, there’s something that bothers me, a byproduct that somewhat diminishes the lovely scent, but I can’t quite pinpoint what it is; it’s just not pleasant for me.

Longevity and sillage:
The longevity is better than that of most other Demeter fragrances. To be honest, the longevity is actually quite strong and lasts eight hours or more. Even after washing, the scent can still be perceived very intensely.
The sillage is also impressive and radiates well.

The bottle:
Yesss,… the bottle. Nooo, the bottle! I don’t like it. I am well aware that the bottles of Demeter fragrances are functional, but they could at least have a nice label with a drawing or something. But no, it’s just a simple glass bottle with a label that looks more than overloaded.

I feel that Demeter has captured the vanilla scent quite okay, but not perfectly. Or I could be mistaken, as it might be intended to smell like vanilla batter and not pure vanilla. At some point, the scent starts to smell a bit strange (the mysterious, disturbing note), which only settles down a little after some time.
Oh, I don’t know, but those who like vanilla might find some enjoyment in this scent (or be terribly disappointed).

A test isn’t really worth it, and anyone who likes vanilla should invest their money elsewhere.
