Spring in and out of the bottle
I was an absolute lily of the valley fanatic as a child and that hasn't changed.
For me, lilies of the valley are the symbol of spring, when they stretch their lush green leaves and stems with white bells towards the first warming rays of sunshine that fall through the forest canopy and everything is still fresh, cool and bright green.
Although they don't last too long in the vase, I always have a bunch on my desk as long as they are blooming in the forest and garden. Our garden is full of lilies of the valley and they can only be decimated slightly. However, I find that the wild lilies of the valley that grow in the forest have an even more intense, flowery and fresh scent. However, as they are a protected species, they are spared from being picked by me.
Diorissimo (2009) Eau de Toilette really captures the scent of lily of the valley in an incredibly authentic way. This is perhaps because lilies of the valley were Christian Dior's favorite flowers and their scent is so beautiful that they don't need any other companions to work, they speak for themselves and that's a good thing.
There isn't much of a scent gradient but that doesn't bother me personally at all, I want pure lily of the valley scent and I get that 100% here.
The DNA of the fragrance is green and fresh. Jasmine and ylang stay discreetly in the background and let the lily of the valley take center stage
The longevity and sillage are not outstanding, but it is an EdT and lily of the valley fragrance can also lead to headaches in excess, so I don't see it as a shortcoming and prefer to spray once more.
Diorissimo (2009) Eau de Toilette fully satisfies my love of lily of the valley, it is a wonderful spring fragrance with the typical elegance of Dior.
