Old Theme, New Fragrance
Although "Eau de Lavande" is part of the "les florales - floral collection," this fragrance is definitely recommended even for those who are not fans of floral scents, as lavender, unlike most flowers that have sweet, heavy, and exotic notes, has rather herbal and green, fresh, almost camphor-like notes, with only a very slight floral aspect.
Have I mentioned that I greatly appreciate lavender? And also Diptyque? Consequently, the announcement of "Eau de Lavande" raised my expectations, which were indeed not disappointed.
"Eau de Lavande" combines lavender with various spices, of which cinnamon (which, in my perception, clearly comes from the cinnamon leaf and not from the bark) is the most prominent.
This pronounced spiciness, however, never drifts into the sultry-oriental, as fortunately it lacks the unfortunately widespread addition of vanilla and/or tonka bean, and is always countered by the coolness of the lavender. Presumably, not only the lavender blossom was used, but also the lavender green.
The overall impression is one of shady and cool, aromatic beauty, which also possesses a revitalizing warmth.
You can never have enough good and convincing lavender fragrances, and "Eau de Lavande" is, in my opinion, clearly one of those.
