Early Gourmand
One of the early Gourmands, before that was even a term!

Desire for a Woman is a sweet, cheery composition. The construction of the perfume- meaning the structure/balance of the notes and the way they unfold- is excellent. A good dollop of tart Citrus creates a wet, fresh effect and balances sweet White Flowers and bright Pink Roses. This combination approximates the aroma of pink Peonies. The base is primarily Vanilla, with some Woods & Musk thrown in for balance. The Caramel & Licorice are understated, but keep you going back for more. Very potent in concentration. Reminds me a little of Tocade, but more complicated.

Tingly like a Glass of Punch
Every now and then, I feel like taking my treasures from the back corner of my fragrance cabinet and smelling them again. Today it's Desire, which used to be one of my favorite scents. Just the bottle itself is quite special for its time, the cap is designed to resemble a lighter, fitting for Dunhill.

Floral-sweet, as it says on top, is absolutely not my taste anymore today, and the scent doesn't fit at all into my (stinker) collection. So I sprayed it on cautiously...

First thought: citrus punch, I can almost feel the tingling of the alcoholic mood enhancer. A vase with magnolias and gardenias stands a bit off to the side, far enough away not to disturb the party. The later the evening, the more relaxed the atmosphere.
Amber and musk blend with a hint of licorice and caramel candy among the dancing crowd. The air vibrates... Desire... The tingling slowly turns into longing...

Desire is sexy in a special way, vibrant, exciting, but not a crackling eroticism, rather the carefree nature of a spontaneous flirt.
