X-Centric Dunhill 2001 Eau de Toilette

WOW , Amazing Fragrance and Unexpectedly Phenomenal. Fresh, Spicy, Floral, Green , Woody, Airy, Complex and Unique. In my opinion, It is the best of Dunhill perfumes for Men, You can't go wrong with it. It opens up with like fresh spicy, citrusy, floral, green and spices notes in the background then dry down is semi sweet green woody. The art of bottle design is very beautiful similar to a Lighter. This is perfect for the spring, summer and fall, I really enjoy it and I love Dunhill X-Centric EDT for Men. Special Thanks to Scent Land on YouTube, I bought it blind-buy! This perfume has a masterful well-blended composition, Longevity is good. Highly Recommended.

2002. I not only frequent the wave and gothic clubs, but I am also always at the forefront when support is needed for organizing an event. In another comment, I mentioned the "Our Darkness" party series that a good friend of mine organized. The future-pop combo VNV Nation was very popular at the time, and the guys occasionally played in clubs as well. Just like they did here in our area. Mr. Pollito and I were present and met the two guys, whom we would see again in just a few weeks, along with the organizer and his partner, at their concert in Mainz on April 4th. However, only the two of us were in Mainz. Our friend apologized, as attending a concert that day was simply unthinkable for him. The reason: the icon Frank Tovey had passed away the day before, one of his greatest heroes. So, we both met the two guys, Mark and Ronan, alone. Ronan hugged me and asked about our friend. In doing so, I noticed a very pleasant, deliciously fresh yet also herbaceous-spicy scent on him. Back then, I wasn't as obsessed with fragrances as I am today, and due to the somewhat suffocating situation, I, of course, didn't ask what he was wearing. I still liked it, just as I enjoyed the subsequent concert, even though my thoughts kept returning to our grieving friend. I had also seen Tovey live and could empathize, but not as he could, who, being 10 years older than me, had experienced a completely different era of this scene's star.

About four weeks later. Mr. Pollito and I are on vacation in Spain, sniffing fragrances in a perfumery. Since my partner already owned the fragrance Desire from this brand at the time, which we both liked, he sprayed on the then-new X-Centric. And just like that - the images returned. Mainz, concert, Ronan. I told my beloved about it, and of course, he wanted the fragrance even more if a musician like Ronan wore it.

X-Centric is indeed a somewhat underrated fragrance; I have to agree with my predecessors. Although it is not discontinued yet, this pleasantly spicy newcomer, which never becomes too loud, has not quite managed to assert itself. However, it also has the advantage that you don't smell it on every corner. It always balances citrusy freshness and woody spiciness pleasantly without one side taking over. The flowers in the heart and the amber notes in the base make it soft and cuddly without letting it become too sweet. It clearly takes a masculine direction from start to finish. Yes, even Mr. Pollito looked great in this mix of spices and woods based on musk, which also brings a hint of animalic notes. A fragrance that, by the way, is very affordable and still absolutely comes across as modern, at least to my nose. You don't always need an Aventus for over 200 bucks :)

As those who occasionally read my comments and statements surely know, I am totally into fresh, herbal, soapy, and shower gel-like scents. In my quest for new fragrances from the fresh corner, I have tested all sorts of things and thought nothing could surprise or catch me off guard anymore. Especially in the "budget segment," most fresh scents smell quite similar and, due to poor longevity, can be rather unconvincing. But this time, it was different...

Last week, I exchanged a few samples with the lovely ScentPhantom, and among the samples I received was one from X-Centric. Nice, I thought, it was already on my wishlist, so I could test it during my workout in the coming days. Before that happened, however, I first tried the other nice scents that seemed more valuable and better. What a mistake, I would think later.

Before the workout: I quickly grabbed the X-Centric, sprayed it on, and hopped on my bike (in times of climate change, you can’t drive to the gym anymore :D). During the ride, I already noticed that I really liked the scent. A strong fresh-herbal-soapy breeze wafted around my nose. It was very powerful right from the start. I had only sprayed once on each side and was wearing a hoodie outside, yet it was super noticeable.

During the workout: Even two hours later, the power of the fragrance was confirmed. I had been wearing it for two hours and had done a few exercises, but the scent was as strong as at the beginning. Not much had changed, fresh, fresh, fresh. I find it hard to pick out the individual components; I can only say that it has a distinct shower gel freshness. It smells like FA shower gel. Extremely fresh, slightly woody, and finely soapy. Additionally, it has a minimal metallic note. Exactly my thing! And not too youthful, wonderful.

After the workout: Now I was sitting on my sofa, freshly showered, five hours after application, and even after the shower, it was still slightly noticeable. Phenomenal, I thought to myself! Such a fresh scent that also has enormous staying power, what more could you want? Right, a good price! It couldn't be better; you can get it for 16 euros (100ml) at Idealo...incredible...

Conclusion (Pros/Cons)

Cons:
- Linear scent development (could get annoying at some point)
- Almost "too" long-lasting
- Could seem too youthful (for some users)

First and foremost, I love this scent, especially because I have worn it during trial work over the last few years, and I can assure you, it was well received everywhere. I come from a medical background and generally had female supervisors. In the practices, XCentric was always positively commented on. Always, because I find that this scent does not radiate "yeah, it's me," but rather conveys a sensitive, gentle, innocent, and trust-inspiring feeling. Just like a babyboy.

It starts off clearly with sage and grapefruit, but it quickly becomes green due to the cypress. Before it turns smoky and even woody like incense sticks, I find that a floral note from the freesia mixes in, woody but also with a hint of citrus. However, this transformation is only noticeable late, around the 3-hour mark, with a touch of sweetness-not the usual amber sweetness, but more like baby powder; it still remains woody.
If you spray it subtly, it lasts for 5 hours, and I found the sillage to be really good.
The bottle is not an eye-catcher, but it's okay.

Not a common scent, in my opinion, but always wearable.

Fresh, woody, shower gel, long-lasting... All terms I love to hear and read in connection with perfume :D
17,- for 100ml is a top price-performance ratio, and if everything else is right, even better.
When the fragrance was delivered to me, I eagerly opened the package, sprayed it on, and... Awesome!
The full blast of freshness with a slightly "green-woody" shower gel-like scent, which I attribute to the cypress among other things.
It has real power, and you feel truly refreshed.
After about 1-2 hours, there is still no sign of weakness; it continues to smell strong and fresh.
Slowly, however, the wood starts to come more to the forefront, but the freshness remains very potent and continues to accompany it. I like it a lot!
After about 3-4 hours, I also smell something "mossy" that reminds me of Chanel PE, but thankfully it is not as "sour" as in the latter.
The fragrance then lingers on me for about another 2 hours, leaving a fresh-woody, slightly mossy masculine shower gel scent in the base, which appears very well-groomed and stylish.
Thus, we have a total longevity of around 8 hours with initially strong sillage, which diminishes over time but is always clearly noticeable. Again, awesome!

Dunhill - X-Centric is a highly recommendable fragrance for anyone who wants to smell masculine, stylish, well-groomed, and above all fresh for a long time. Additionally, the price-performance ratio is simply unbeatable!
