With a magnifying glass, I was able to decipher the perfume brand on the colorful label of the black sample spray. José Eisenberg? Never heard of it.
And then no comment on "Eau Fraîche"? That really makes me "happy":-(.
Upon application, I immediately had the scent "Ninfeo Mio" by Goutal in my mental fragrance repertoire. But first, I let the fragrance settle; I had other things to do. In doing so, I noticed that "Eau Fraîche" has a strong sillage; everywhere I had briefly stayed to do something again after a while, the scent was still distinctly perceptible, and it continuously wafted from my arm to my nose while I was busy.
"Eau Fraîche" starts immediately with a very fresh, strong, and cheerful citrus opening. I don't smell any pepper. A very skillful composition develops; I can't pick out individual ingredients, especially the listed ones. Neither mint nor lavender or ginger. Certainly no star anise, which as a spice star smells woody, bitter, and more like cinnamon than anise. But when applied, one knows the scent of roasted almonds and plum jam. I don't smell anything like that in "Eau Fraîche".
Slowly, a hint of creaminess becomes noticeable, which remains.
Now it was time for an "expedition" to my spice rack. The only spice I can definitely perceive in "Eau Fraîche" is the special green fresh sharpness of dried cardamom seeds. The listed mint could also be hiding behind it. Strange, I've never perceived cardamom like this before. The scent sharply and refreshingly rose to my nose and eyes.
After a while, a slight woodiness adds to the scent, grounding it. Here, the star anise could also come into play.
"Eau Fraîche" is without sweetness and without floral scents. It is also not a gourmand but not too bitter, rather spring-fresh.
I would definitely classify it as unisex.
