Today it's a private event…
The best part first - This fragrance was a blind buy…
I knew it would be challenging, but I did my best.
Now to the point - Thanks to this fragrance, I now know what a private event smells like. One could also say opulence. (…and it wouldn't be an exaggeration)
For those wanting a fitting comparison in terms of performance and sillage, just imagine Baccarat Rouge for the mid-50s/early 60s. The fragrance itself is fantastic and simultaneously an instant classic. This fragrance simply lacks the stage!
My first experience with Patchouli Noble:
Package received, unpacked, smelled at the spray head and thought “Wow, somehow cool, but I immediately feel underdressed.”
No risk, no fun. So the next day, I went to work with ONE spray on my chest. I walk into the office and my colleague at the other end of the room greets me with
“Ah, the gentleman has a new perfume!”
And that's how I felt throughout the day…
So suitable for work: No. Unless you are an opera singer or a very established designer.
This fragrance is solely created for special occasions. But what could that be?
Let's say:
After two years of lockdown, you can finally go back to the theater… then yes, maybe with this perfume.
You are nominated for the Oscars… then please with this perfume.
You want to speak to the CEO… then best with this perfume.
I really find the fragrance quite wonderful, but I cannot offer it the stage it deserves. And thus, it will unfortunately have to go again.
About the fragrance: Extremely creamy, soapy patchouli, extremely mature, extremely present. Very linear scent that would easily last two days.
In conclusion, all I can say is:
Chapeau, I must take my hat off, because I feel inferior.
