Gentle Seducer
"Lustfully bending, inclined to surrender," this is how the fragrance is advertised on the Douglas homepage, and it leans quite far out the window, making me skeptical at first. But after wearing it for a few days, I too have fallen for it. A heartfelt thank you to the lovely donor.
The top note exudes a Mediterranean flair for me: fresh bergamot wonderfully combines with blackcurrant, which seems a bit unripe, as it is only slightly sweet and berry-like. The cypress is a bit piercing and thus has a needly effect, but this impression is very interesting. I can't perceive the pepper at all here. This phase lasts about an hour, then a fine vanilla note joins in, which makes me rave, as it feels so natural and not cookie-like as I have criticized in other perfumes. For me, the maritime notes smell slightly mineral, like fine wet sand, only minimally earthy and still pleasantly light and fresh. I can't really identify the rose here, but jasmine and violet complement each other beautifully. From here, the fragrance takes on a fine gourmand touch and is very special and unique. The scent changes significantly while wearing it. The base is the most beautiful part. Fluffy white musk and tonka bean merge into a soft blanket, with vanilla coming more to the forefront, rounded off by sandalwood and a hint of patchouli. A dream that I would love to dive into. And fortunately, this state lasts long; the longevity for me is about 12 hours.
Overall, I really like Tentation because the fragrance is very versatile and adapts well to my daily rhythm. In the morning, it is fresh and invigorating; in the evening, it is cuddly and calming. The sillage is just right for my taste. The perfume knows its allure and doesn't need to shout it out loud. Since it is so special, it does require a certain maturity, thus it is not a girly scent but well-suited for women who are looking for something away from mainstream fragrances.
Tentation means temptation, and in this case, I am gladly succumbed to it more often. :-)
