Once black coffee with a lot of sugar, please!
The Eisenberg fragrances have never really impressed me. Too simple, too little character, and too unbalanced have they appeared to me so far.
However, the scent pyramid of J'Ose Homme piqued my curiosity again. Since yesterday was a dark, chilly day, I hoped that J'Ose Homme would provide me with a cozy fragrance experience. So was my (wishful) expectation.
But as often happens in life, desire and reality can drift apart. Right after spraying, it starts off fresh, with the freshness carrying a sweet veil, which I find unusual but not bad.
Immediately afterwards, I feel like I've spilled a cup of coffee (or mocha?) with a lot of vanilla and sugar. It's actually quite a nice café scent, not too much and not too little. But then the vanilla really clings to my nose! It’s not a fine vanilla accord that comes off naturally, but a rather nasty synthetic imitation.
OK, one cannot and should not compare Eisenberg's vanilla to that of, for example, Guerlain (different league, different galaxy), but if it’s going to be synthetic, then at least make it somewhat true to nature and not so clumsy and overpowering.
Beneath this thick layer of artificial vanilla, musk and patchouli occasionally peek through. However, they have no real chance to unfold properly.
So the scent remains and leaves me feeling "uncomfortable." For me personally, it’s not a cozy scent; I know and have better ones. But thankfully, tastes differ! At least I am richer for the experience and it confirms to me that Eisenberg and I probably don’t really match.
