Wet bamboo
Well hello Ella K! What a lovely citrus-woody you have got here. Green vegetale and juicy fresh flavors that seem to come straight from a "Japanese tea house in a bamboo forest" theme. But instead of being all zen and restrained, this has an uplifting summer vibe to it.
The opening is an interesting blend of citruses, somewhere between yuzu and grapefruit. Sour, fruity and nothing sharp. Mint, bamboo and green tea carry the scent into far-eastern green territories. The mint is clearly present, but feels surprisingly mild here and stays well within my tolerance range. The whole dries down relatively fast and remains in this 'wet bamboo' state while fading out.
Even in a saturated market for citrusy fresh scents, Poème de Sagano manages to stand out with both an original composition and quality execution. Good stuff.
