Transparent Rhubarb Spirit Likes Tea
As it is with spirits, they disappear quickly; some don't even believe they were ever there, and they are so pale and transparent that you have to rub your eyes, or in this case your nose, several times. Intense has hardly ever been more inappropriate; I unfortunately don't know the original Apparition Homme, but I thought I could rely on the serious brand Emanuel Ungaro. And on one of the masters, Olivier Polge, even more so. But somehow I have rarely felt so deceived and disappointed.
The deep red of the bottle promises so much more than what actually comes. I'm really starting to wonder if everything is right with my version - because you can hardly smell anything, and compared to, for example, the tea scents from Bulgari, this is a cheekiness. A bit citrusy, hardly definable tea and rhubarb. That's all that's in the bag, not a hint of an oriental fragrance bomb or innovation. Stay away, even for tea fans!
The Apparitions Homme Intense bottle is a risky mix of supermarket cheapness and an interesting, deep red look. The sillage is perhaps like when you've had a cup of tea - short and one of the weakest things you can use as a perfume. Longevity? A foreign word here - not even 3 hours. It borders on customer deception, because quality is something else!
Bitter disappointment, even if the scent still comes across as quite pleasant and versatile. Olivier Polge at his baddest!
