Love is in the air
A beautiful, soothing, balanced, discreet perfume that has that something. I have a miniature of it and I want to enjoy it to the fullest. I like to collect and also consume perfumes even if they are in miniature. It may sound strange, but it is the kind of perfume that makes you feel that everything is okay, that life is beautiful and that it will be fine. It also makes me think of a stable love relationship between a man and a woman; a wonderful relationship that does not need many words and where love is in the air.
In short: I really like this perfume and I highly recommend it! Rating: 9/10

Mimosa
Beautiful Belle is an impressive floral perfume with hints of orange blossom, lychee, and mimosa—three of my favorites!
The scent is soft, perfect for spring and summer wear or year-round in warmer climates.
I love the sweetness of this perfume. It’s just right for breakfast, church, or going to the market. It’s almost refreshing to wear. It’s not a groundbreaking fragrance. It’s nevertheless mainstream and pleasant. It’s safe. I would wear this to a wedding.

Sillage is close, maybe 12 inches, but I don’t overspray. Longevity is several hours in the air conditioning, but fewer in the heat.

I find it quite beautiful
For a long time, I debated whether to buy Beautiful Belle (BB), as the reviews didn’t bode well. But as a fan of Estee Lauder (EL) and especially of Beautiful, I overcame my doubts and ordered a 50ml bottle at a rather good price. And I was not disappointed! This fragrance is wonderful, but one thing at a time...

First, the bottle resembles the classic from EL, but the cap is a bit different, the diffuser is amazing, very fine spray mist, so no soaking wet skin, which I really like!

The scent itself stays more like a fine veil around you, so it’s not a fragrance bomb; however, the sillage becomes quite close to the skin after a short time, a small downside that also prevents over-application.

At the beginning, I perceive a bitter, slightly fruity freshness that quickly becomes floral and slightly powdery. The marzipan flits by for a moment and then (thankfully) stays where it always disappears to or doesn’t reappear. As it develops, the flowers come in, and after about 2 hours, a kind of soft woodiness (the suede?) starts to spread more and more. In the first test, alongside this woodiness, the floral creaminess remained more prominent; today, in the second test, there’s more of a slightly fruity-bitter note over suede; here, BB also reminds me of a well-known fragrance that I just can’t recall.
Why BB smells one way to me one time and another way at another time seems to be hormonally influenced; I have several fragrances that behave similarly. I’m curious to see how it develops in warmer and especially more humid temperatures. Yesterday and today, it was around 15 degrees and dry; I could imagine that it might become a bit scratchier in cooler temperatures.

So I am thrilled with this fragrance and can’t quite understand some of the reviews, but everyone perceives scents differently, and they unfold differently for each person. Surely, the Ambroxan might not excite many, and I usually have my issues with it, but not here.

BB is a classically simple fragrance that will surely accompany the modern bride but also fits well with a suit, leather pants, or torn jeans; it actually goes with everything. In my opinion, the campaign doesn’t really match; when I saw the clip for the first time, I had a completely different idea of this fragrance.

It’s a shame that BB is not available in stores here; I could only find it online, and even then, not everywhere. Anyone looking for a fine, classic, unsweetened fragrance should give BB a chance.

BB. Floral-Ordinary.
In 1985, Estee Lauder launched their floral-radiant perfume "Beautiful," marketed at the time as a "wedding scent."
A masterpiece that fulfilled the fundamental condition set by the renowned perfumer Guy Robert: "Un parfum doit sentir bon."

In 2018, the new fragrance "Beautiful Belle" from Lauder apparently tried to connect to the great model from '85.
"Beautiful Belle" (I will refer to the scent as BB from here on) is, however, neither "belle" nor "beautiful."
This was not the work of a genius like Sophia Grosjman, but rather some fragrance technicians who must have toiled under the directives of the marketing department.

I imagine their considerations/
brainstorming session as follows:

"La vie est belle" is a mega-seller - stop - good people, we can also speak French, so why not use "Belle" for the name?
It might ring a bell with our customers...
...
Bride and flowers, always a popular choice - let's activate the positive associations that the classic "Beautiful" evokes in women aged 50 and above!

- we are focusing on "Modern reinterpretation"!

What does the chemistry toolbox offer us in this context?

- We will not construct a Chypre, as this genre does not appeal to younger consumers...

(And oakmoss has been "out" for a long time anyway.)

- Artificial fruit aromas in the top note sell well... always!!!

- Lychee! Splash!

- Then tuberose, orange blossom, now standard.

- Can we add a bit of sweetness?

(- Not too gourmet - it shouldn't be annoying or burdensome, as that doesn't fit a "bridal scent.")

Technician-Chemist 2 suggests "Marzipan - Musk."
(Although it smells more like fabric softener than real marzipan, the suppliers of aroma chemicals are currently selling this molecule very well.)

Ambroxan!!!!!
Ambroxan big time!
Of course, you need it for the fixative...
---- yes, almost perfect, we're getting there...
----
However, Aerin Lauder, who is presenting the new creation, still feels something is missing.

"The bride of 1885 was not as cool as the model who is supposed to represent it in 2018."

Does the scent need a little "edgy touch"?

- Suede. Suede, the little contrast to the floral program, okay, let's indulge... quite bold, isn't it?

"But please not too much."

----
What has emerged is a mainstream, completely unremarkable daytime scent with a shocking overdose of Ambroxan and a huge disappointment potential.

Estee Lauder!
For me, it used to be a brand whose fragrances were milestones in perfume history.
Youth Dew! Alliage! White Linen!
You name it...

But in 2018? BB. Beh, Beh.
Meh, Meh.

(On Fragrantica, a perceptive user from the USA wrote: "It's going to flop, will definitely end up at Tkmaxx."
She was right. It's already there. Went quickly. Currently €32 in Cologne).

I love the sharpness of the opening, perhaps the lychee and gardenia, but it quickly softens. Nice scent, elegant. But not great longevity.

Nice, well-groomed flowers with Ambroxan. Lots of tuberose, all rather safe. Yawn.

Lychee, marzipan, and leather are missing without excuse. The scent Pleasures Eau de Parfum from 20 years ago with green-creamy vibes.

Oh, I don't find it that bad at all. It smells a bit like the tuberose bombs of the 80s in the style of Amarige. So, good H&S too.
