Woody Oriental ?
"The Book" (Michael Edwards Fragrances of the World 2014) shows this as a woody oriental, classical. Fragrantica shows it as an oriental floral. Why doesn't everyone use the same source?

Anyhow, since we have no reviews as of yet, I'll start one. This is a perfume where I love all three stages.

Top - green, floral, fruity, and just yummy (not gourmand).
Middle - can detect the lemon and vanilla (very light).
Dry down - soft spicy, floral, and feminine.

Silage, well, I could smell it on my wrist the whole time without having to bring it to my nose. Longevity was great, it lasted at least 24 hours.

Powdery melancholic sweetness for autumn
Bijou Romantique is one of the few fragrances that fits a specific season for me. With its powdery and slightly melancholic sweetness, it belongs to autumn in my opinion. The mood it conveys also matches those golden days when the leaves fall and an aromatic sweetness hangs in the air, reminiscent of plums, leaves, and damp earth, already heralding the transience of summer. Nevertheless, this fragrance from Etat Libre d'Orange also carries a certain artificiality that I perceive in all the scents I have tested from this brand. The scent is softly floral, with little sillage, and becomes powdery shortly after application. Underneath lies a pleasant zestiness that lends it some liveliness and prevents it from drifting into the realm of generic, nice, cushion-like floral perfumes. I suspect this is due to the vetiver. Vanilla does what one hopes for and gives the fragrance a warm, slightly cozy framework. This fits very well with autumn for me, especially since it never veers into gourmand territory and the entire scent never becomes so sweet and heavy that one would associate it with Christmas.
Overall, I find it quite pretty and wearable, even if it is not a scent for me. It is more suited for leisure, as I find it too sweet and calming for work, and for a big appearance, it would need more power. But for home or a relaxed afternoon tea or coffee, it fits well. Thus, I also find the name chosen for the fragrance quite appropriate.

For Tilda and Cate and all the others...
Romantic gem - this is the German translation of this wonderful fragrance.
The cameo, surrounded by numerous facets, is meant to symbolize a very special woman, a jewel, in her entirety, and this has been excellently achieved here.

The beginning is bright, graceful, lightly sweet, and reminiscent of fine skin creams. It captivates from the very start, wavering between elegance and comfort.
Citrusy sprinkles join in, and iris brings a large dose of powder with it.
Gradually, the fragrance gains more ground, solidifies, and makes its grand entrance.
Heavy sweetness and caressing vanilla play with closeness and distance, seduction and rejection, promising much.
What will the wearer think?

This is the fragrance I would have chosen for Tilda Swinton (not Like This, the pumpkin-carrot mélange). I can also see Cate Blanchett wearing it, as they are both women with a cool, ethereal presence and innate elegance, equally enchanting in a white men's shirt as in an evening gown.

Romantic Vanilla Stars Just in Time for Christmas
Most ELDO fragrances are rightly unisex, this one is rightly feminine. Bijou Romantique sounds promising, the guys & gals there sure know how to name their creations.

From the scent, I get a gentle, sweet, very vanilla Christmas cookie aroma. It specifically reminded me of cinnamon stars with the white coating. Sugary, extremely sweet, and with a hint of lemon in the batter. Luckily, it's getting colder; the warmer it gets, the quicker one could become disgusted by so much sugar. But today, the scent worked well, even though I wouldn't wear it as a man this time, despite often wearing sweet fragrances, regardless of their assigned gender. I can't emphasize enough that this gender classification is outdated. A very powdery scent, sometimes even a bit smoky. It's becoming more common to see vanilla tainted with smoky accents, making it more interesting. The floral accords come from Ylang Ylang, highlighting the feminine traits, but everything is overshadowed by the benzoin/vanilla.

Longevity: 8 hours or more, typical for vanilla representatives.
Sillage: it seemed quite strong to me.

A lovely scent for the cold season. Unfortunately, a bit like all the other vanilla fragrances. At least the good ones.

WOW .........
Yes, this fragrance is simply WOW, it hits like a scent bomb;-)
I usually prefer lighter scents, so heavy candidates don’t have it easy with me, but this one is really beautiful and also reminds me of a fragrance, I just can’t recall which one it is.

I once had 2 samples of fragrances that have this scent direction and are somewhat similar, at least at the beginning. One sample was "Geisha Noir" and the other "something with Rouge." Well, I honestly don’t know which fragrance it was; I’ve already looked at all the fragrances with Rouge in the name three times, but I just can’t figure it out.

In any case, the fragrance reminds me of one of the two or a mix of both; maybe you’ll figure it out when you test this;-) Or maybe I’ll remember it someday;-)

So, the fragrance is heavy, at least for me, but not overwhelming, quite pleasant for the winter months I would think. Right now, it’s not for me, but in winter, sitting by the fireplace, simply wonderful and totally romantic, if you have a babysitter;-)

The scent lasts and lasts; yesterday it was easily 10 hours. It becomes lighter over time but remains beautiful. Thank goodness the lemon is only very lightly detectable, sage, pepper, bergamot, vanilla, and ylang-ylang are very nicely noticeable, it’s just very beautiful and also somewhat hard to describe. The vanilla makes the fragrance soft and pleasant, really nice for cuddling.

So, this one is going straight on the wish list, definitely worth a test.

THANK YOU PARFUMO, without you I would have never tested this!

ELdO is everyday wearable, but you have to like it floral and powdery sweet. Plus, it lacks the brand's typical edge. Not a scent for me.

The vanilla and benzoin are too dominant for me to really like it, but anyone who enjoys that direction will find a balanced scent.
