Mature stronger with you
If you're a fan of Emporio Armani - Stronger with You Intensely or any frag from that line, this is a more mature, grounded version of that.

But be aware, this isn't as sweet as the notes might suggest. I don't really get any rum or vanilla, which I was hoping to get. This is a heavy scent with roasted chestnut, cumin & smoky and dry vetiver base. !IT IS NOT A GOURMAND! It's a little reminiscent or marzipan to me, I just wish it was sweeter or more vanillic, so definitely don't blindbuy.
If you like drier, spicy scents without much sweetness that will fill out a room, this might be for you.

Wonderful gourmand with a frustrating undertone
A really delicious vanilla, chestnut and cinnamon scent with a small downside that keeps me from loving it. Almost everything is perfect, but there is a slightly scratchy note, especially in the opening and heart phase. I'm not sure where it's coming from. Maybe the combination of cumin and vetiver, which I both can't single out separately here, or the gaiacol, an ingredient I'm not familiar with. It makes the scent a tiny tad too masculine leaning for my liking.
Which is a shame, as the rest is so comforting and gorgeous: Sweet, creamy vanilla, warming cinnamon, toasty chestnut and a dash of rum. This is definitely more of a autumn and winter scent. This has a chestnut wood accord, and I do smell something woodsy, but I also get a pure gourmand roasted chestnut note.
In the drydown it gets warmer and rounder as the harsh aspects slowly fade away. I wish it was like that from the start, they drydown is addictive.
Kind of ironic how my feelings for this scent fit the name so perfectly.

I see where people are coming from when they compare this to By the Fireplace, but I think Frustration is a more complex fragrance and less smokey. They might be related to each other, but they sure aren't twins.

Despite saying it's a little too masculine for me, I still think this is perfectly unisex. It's just that I'm a bit sensitive to notes I perceive as scratchy and that I associate them with male-marketed fragrances. It might also be a skin chemistry issue in this case.

spiced boozy chestnut
This opens with a spiced rum with warm cinnamon and dry cumin. This brand seems to really love using cumin in a way I don’t really enjoy but in this blend it works well with the booze. The heart of this is allll vanilla with a slight hint of ambery labdanum but I don’t get a lot of it, just a creamy and smooth vanilla absolute with remnants of the rum. The dry down is a dry & sweet chesnut with boozy and smooth woods. This is a very boozy wood forward vanilla scent with hints of spice. Really loved this one

Child inside us
Frustration: perhaps the most anomalous interpretation of the Etat Libre d'Orange rose.
A dive into childhood, the smell of chestnuts, the aroma of liqueur invading the rooms, the warmth and sweetness of those days.
“The memory of that fragile child that was within us, now strong adults, or the melancholy of the happiness of a child who has become a fragile man”, this is the beautiful explanation given by Etat Libre d'Orange.
And frustration here is seen not as something negative, but as a pleasure that is not fully satisfied and ephemeral, doing nothing other than stimulate our soul to remember and rekindle the desire for that unfinished something, and the perfume, with its volatility, it is a sort of metaphor for it.
So enjoyable that I wanted to try again to get to the end.
A beautiful and original fragrance, warm and comforting.
Ended up on wishlist.

I do wonder
Who is actually paying retail price to this brand, and then its happy with the purchase.

I like some of their creations like 500 years and spices must flow, but those are the odd ones which smell good, are priced fairly (at discounters) and hold some hours on the skin.

Frustration, came as a free sample with an order from France and I was very excited to check how the new one from the brand is: smells like all the other cold weather chestnut smells like Joop Homme, Replica by the Fireplace or Chergui (from far).

Not a bad scent by itself and comes in a nice bottle, but come on guys, you are pricing yourself out of the market. Within the Armani SWY range prices, would be a nice perfume to try, because there is some creativity into it and lasts quite long.

Lovely scent. I agree that this smells more like warm hazelnut with creamy vanilla. I just wish this lasted more than 3 hrs on my skin

If you're Mexican, this smells like De La Rosa... which... not very sexy?? But it is nice! For non-Mexicans, it smells like peanut marzipan.

A vanillic vetiver with a weird vinyl accord. Not great but still pleasant. The vanilla is not overly sweet.

Memories of childhood. An old dog who spent his last moments in my bed, and Brown Bear cookies that both he and I loved, and VHS tapes.

Dry woods with cumin, oddly enough it's vaguely similar to marzipan. Very heavy and dry, enjoyable but only wearable when its freezing.

Sweet nuttiness, definitely similar to by the fireplace, but there is also this almost plastic note that stings the nose on first spray.

Abrasive, dry wood note that has been generously dusted with cumin. Not my cup of tea, personally.

Beautiful and warm but a bit too boozy for me. I cannot imagine smelling like this at my age.

Cinnamon booze that dries into a heavy vanilla scent with vetiver. A little nutty. It reminds me a lot of a "holiday candle" scent.
