Straddling the clean-dirty divide with aplomb
Reactions to Unspoken Musk, as with any musk, seems to be divided according to whether you can smell the composition in its entirety or only parts of it. The latter group finds it to be clean, inoffensive, and even a little boring (that classic white musk profile), while the former finds it urinous and therefore awful. I can smell all of Unspoken Musk and am mystified by the violent reactions. To my nose, it follows the track of The Musc (Essential Parfums), Helmut Lang EDP, and even Kiehl’s Musk in that it straddles the line between clean and unclean, so that it really could be both or either depending on the moment you turn to inspect it. For the most part, it is dominated by a clean, fluffy iris-musk accord supported by a base of warm, honeyed resins and tonka bean.

But there is a touch of hyraceum and civet, both essences squeezed from the nether regions of animals (ethically collected as a waste product in the case of hyraceum and artificially mimicked by an aromachemical in the case of civet), which together add a rather sharp and unlovely dimension to the scent. To be fair, though, these accords do not smell like urine, they just smell like the undercarriage of a beloved pet – a cat at best or a kid goat at worst. And it is the counterposing of something a little feral with the cleanliness of the main body of the scent – that cloudy, musky nothingness – that gives the scent its human sensibility, and by corollary its sensuality. I love the hide and seek nature of musks like this, the ones that are neither too clean or too foul but contain elements of both, just like real human bodies do. I have far too many examples of this in my collection to want to pick Unspoken Musk up myself, but I beg people trying this out to refrain from judging it on a cursory sniff of its top notes or even on one wear alone. It is a scent that cries out for longer acquaintance.

Gorgeous pampering non animalic musk
In based on the sample: This is beautiful, very pleasant musk covered with honey like sweetness. This is one of the easiest scent from FB and it's quite linear as well but in the same time it's so soft and subtle that I barely can smell it after an opening. That doesn’t bother me at all, I love some skin scents but the longevity is the problem at least on my skin. I tried this for days and always the same problem, I barely smell it after 30-60 minutes. Iris is hidden bringing only a powdery feel. Animalic notes are tamed and very easily approachable. This doesn't have the sensual and sexy character that many musky fragrances usually have, but this one is cozy and pampering, enveloping. I would say that if you don’t like FB perfumes there is a chance that you like this one. I wanted to buy this so badly but the bottle would be quickly finished because I should respray all the time. Anyway, I highly recommend you to try this, if it stays longer on your skin, it’s more than perfect sweet "better than your skin" musk.

Seducing… wearing white gloves
Any animalics erect my interest.
Add Bianchi DNA and You got my undiveded attention.
You definitely get the soft musk. Old-fashioned one. No molecules, nothing is screeching.
Immortele does get along with it, providing a touch of bitter and dry note.
But let’s be honest - civet is the alpha male in sight.
Those feline-like creatures welcome You with softness of its fur. Lurred, one takes a closer sniff as the gentle Musang stretches in the sun, allowing to enjoy the essence - civetyy.
It brings warmth.
It brings sun.
Along with a touch of tonka, it becomes creamy, balsamic.
Castoreum, musk and civet step down.
They got comfy in the background.
I think it is sandalwood and orris time to shine.
The scent is so gentle. Polished.
But if You know what it stands for, You just can’t wipe the grin … cause it’s Unspoken, simply.

The Little Shop in the Alley
She loved this little shop in her county town, which she had regularly visited as a teenager. The silver and piercing jewelry, the tie-dyed shirts and scarves, and her velvet shoes that she still wears today. She can immediately perceive the colors and scents there when she closes her eyes. She enters the store in the alley. In the corner, incense sticks are burning, and the numerous fragrance oils available for purchase contribute to the special scent aura of this unique shop. It smells warm, soft, honey-sweet, and amber-like, with just a tiny bit of darkness. She herself is wearing Extase Musk Woman by Muelhens. The shop assistant has put on a warm-spicy, crisp oriental fragrance. Perhaps Obsession? Or Must de Cartier? A delightful potpourri, she thinks, as she tries on a new silver ring while listening to the sounds of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds from the speakers.

Francesca Bianchi's Unspoken Musk surprises me absolutely positively. A blend as described above develops on my skin and makes me think of carefree youth for a few hours. It has that typical Bianchi iris note, but overall this soft musk is a bit different from the Bianchis I have encountered so far. Unlike the often very animalistic compositions of the Italian, which usually trouble me especially in the top note, this one shows right from the start what it is. A perfume. A rather classic perfume that clearly bears the stamp of the eighties or nineties. I have to think of scents like Obsession or Must de Cartier. Lehmann's Verité and also a bit of KL. In addition, there is a sweet, honey-like, almost peachy scent aura, reminiscent of my beloved Extase Musk by Muelhens. Sure, it's all a bit darker and more "independent" than typical classic perfumes, but it definitely goes in that direction. Animalic yes, but not with the sledgehammer that Bianchi usually employs, rather subtle, sexy, sensual, like a Joy by Patou or some Carons.

While this isn't 100 percent my usual preference, it is a great scent that could also appeal to lovers of classics and those who haven't really found access to Bianchi until now. True fans who love The Black Knight or The Lover’s Tale will probably be more disappointed.

And this musk, ah. In good Swabian: Schee!

Many thanks to Susan for the testing opportunity.

BLINDDATE
My heart is racing.
Today I will really do it, there’s no turning back!
We’ve been writing to each other for months, flirty, suggestive, clearly double entendre.
Just the thought of our exchange makes me grin stupidly and blush.
The look in the mirror shows a tough woman with sparkling eyes, excited for an adventure. Nothing remains unspoken; he will know what I long for. Although we skipped photos, the crackling chemistry between us will allow us to recognize each other immediately.
This gin and tonic at the bar was only due to the decorum I pretend to have - before whom, I don’t know.
He will speak to me any moment now...
I smell him before I see him - even though for a moment I still think the bathroom door is open - it’s HIM, "Unspoken68". The cruel realization spreads as a moist, fleshy hand rests on my back, and a sweet "Hello, doll!" is whispered in my ear. While my nose immediately clogs up from the overwhelming pee-sweet scent, I try to save my eyesight - almost impossible given the total disaster to my right. A muscle shirt with huge flowers is presented alongside unwashed sweatpants with civet print, and in all three hairs, butter flakes seem to shimmer, which disturbingly matches the greasy shine of the suggestively grinning pouty lips....HELP!
If this community was ever good for anything, then get me out of here, NOW!

Unspoken Musk is terrible.
My absolute favorite fragrances are by Francesca Bianchi, which can be read about on this platform.
The play with eroticism, a recurring theme with her, appeals to me.
Human, a bit dirty, incredibly fragrant, and with recognizability, great.
This Italian living in Holland, a self-taught artist, knows her stuff. All the more disappointing is this one (and unfortunately for me, also the predecessor).
This scent is coarse, rough, unrefined.
The iris is too buttery, civet is just urinous, and the flowers are clumsy and sweet. Everything is 'too much', like that guy up there. If I weren’t a real fangirl of this perfumer, I would have given even fewer points, damn.

I really hope that Francesca Bianchi will knock us off our (bar) stools next year; it must be possible, right? Or??

Fairly strong animalistic musk with a subtly sweet powder. No mistaking that this is Bianchi creation.

Warm comforting patchouli with some slight sour undertones that might be conceived as pissy when you put your nose on it.

I really appreciate it, however, way too physiological for me. Better not to sniff up close if it's not your thing, nicely powdery from afar

Francesca exposes her big brown bibergeil, butters it up with orris and rounds it off with a sweet-floral cream. What a scene!

A cozy, soft, huggable fragrance. Francesca's specific DNA is clearly present, but there is something so romantic about this one. big love!

Sexy. Seductive. Unapologetically feminine. Bayonetta would wear this.
