Not really a review

This is the perfume that grabbed my attention towards Fueguia and that got me keeping making sample orders to try more. It's really not a complicated perfume, to simply put it: it is a lactonic perfume; a musky fragrance with a cold milk note and a dab of sugar. To be fair it reminds me of an asian vegetable too, that presents itself as white, watery and fibrous on the inside. Yes you will get the beautiful Fueguia botanical pheromone feel. Overall I wouldn't recommend it as a blind buy or as a formal fragrance; while there are offerings from the house that are suitable for this I think that the whole line is based on mental associations and the chemistry between human nature and nature itself and such bond constantly remodeled by our past individual legacies. If you like a discreet milk note and are looking at Fueguia for the first time, this is where to start.

Andean Deer or Piña Colada?

The Andean deer (Hippocamelus) is a genus of deer (Cervidae) living in the South American Andes. They are also known as forked deer or Huemuls (singular Huemul). There are two species: the Northern Andean deer (Hippocamelus antisensis (d’Orbigny, 1834)), which lives in Peru, western Bolivia, and northern Chile, and the Southern Andean deer (Hippocamelus bisulcus (Molina, 1782)), which is native to the central and southern regions of Chile and Argentina.

So yes, the scent is "musky," inspired by young, wild Andean deer, but that's not all. It is the perfect blend of being easily wearable and sneakily seductive. This is mainly due to the fruity zest of pineapple, which isn't even listed as a fragrance note. Combined with the milky-creamy Massoia lactone, an alkyl lactone derived from the bark of the Massoia tree, the scent creates a rather delicious composition that somewhat reminds me of (Virgin) Piña Colada.

It is cozy and sensual, perfect for "rainy Sundays" in bed. One can definitely perceive the synthetic musk, and a bit of jasmine is also part of the composition, so it has a slightly animalistic quality. Unforced sex appeal mixed with a fruity frivolity.

Musk and musk and then sometimes animalistic jasmine - it should really buzz with animalistic notes, right?

But Huemul surprises with a fruity pineapple opening, transitions into a slightly sweet chamomile note, and remains light and a bit floral.

Animalistic? Not really! Long-lasting? Not really! Good sillage? Not really! A candidate for purchase? No!
