Sunshine in liquid form
This is such a beautiful and special fragrance. From the opening, it smells like bright, happy, sweet, perfectly ripe citrus fruit. As it dries, you start to notice the marshmallowy, cotton candy sweetness in the base notes. I was glad to see Oriana as one of the "similar fragrances" because fragrance is exactly what I thought of as well. However, I will say this one smells more elevated than Oriana.

If you read my review from Oriana, I compared it to a cheap walmart cotton candy fragrance that I used to wear in middle school. This one, is similar to Oriana but much less juvenile. This is a more grown up, luxurious version but still with that same kind of fun, playful energy.

This fragrance makes me smile just from smelling it. It's like the feeling of sunshine on your cheeks on a perfect summer day.

Nice, but not the best showcasing of neroli
Byredo is one of those houses that I haven’t been super interested in trying because of how expensive it all is and how bad the performance is across the board. I have not heard of one person say that these fragrances are TOO strong or TOO long-lasting, and personally, I like my perfumes on the stronger side (especially if they’re going to cost THIS MUCH). Anyways, I kept that in mind when I got a decant of Sundazed.

As a Neroli fiend, I really do enjoy this fragrance a lot. It’s your traditional white floral-citrus combo, but with a big dose of sweetness from the cotton candy in the base. I would say the cotton candy and musk have an equal dosing here, at least for me because this becomes very musky on my skin on the dry down. It’s a really beautiful fragrance actually, and works best in the heat of summer. It’s unisex, with moderate sillage and longevity. It’s bright, fun, and flirty.

It reminds me a lot of Jo Malone Rose Water & Vanilla, without the rosey accords. I see that people have compared it to PDM Oriana and I don’t see it at all, considering how sugary sweet Oriana is and how noticeably floral Sundazed is.

This perfume is good for summer fanatics, citrus lovers, and those who don’t mind a mildly sweet fragrances. While neroli is my love forever and always, I think I can do without this one. I have other neroli scents in my collection that I’d rather wear besides this.

rainbow sherbet
A summery, synthetic carnival of a fragrance. It’s rainbow sherbet made scent. There’s a sprightly citrus lean – I can clock the candied lemon and mandarin – but it’s more Starburst than fresh-squeezed. There’s also an overarching plasticky feel to the scent, which I hope is intentional, as it makes me think of jelly sandals and beach balls. It’s juvenile, but in a nostalgic way. Grade school birthday parties, complete with cotton candy machine. The jewelry rack in the back of Claire’s, the air fizzing with a spectrum of body mists. I have a soft spot for these gummy-fruity-nerolis, but I think Regime des Fleurs’s Nitesurf Neroli has a more interesting execution with its seasalt and amber.

Mental Snapshot: It’s the last week of junior high and you’re on a sugar high. You’re on a field trip to the boardwalk. Or a waterpark. Heart-shaped sunglasses, hibiscus-print tankini, holographic plastic fanny pack. You spend all your change on Dance Dance Revolution rounds at the arcade. Or on Dippin Dots. You don't even feel the sunburn.

tl;dr: rainbow sherbet aerosol ️

Childlike
“Your perfume smells like cotton candy!” said my sister the day I wore my sample. I don’t know why I expected this to smell like any kind of real citrus fruit. It smells like cotton candy. Any orange or lemon notes are the artificial flavorings used in candy. No florals detected. This is ridiculously tooth achingly sweet. Orange syrup continuously poured into warm spun sugar.

Dazed, not confused
The name is carefully chosen, it has exactly that relaxed feel that you have after a day in the sun. I had not read about it before I tried it, and when read the notes description it is EXACTLY the ones I got. Citrus/mandarin, Neroli, Jasmine, some light musk and a sweet, sugery candy note, perfectly split and getting 1/6 of the attention each. It is very summery, light and pleasant.

After a few hours the citrus accords dries down a bit in favour of the musk and cotton candy. The musk is light and easy, not the dirty heavy type.

It is well made, but not in any way revolutionary, even if the cotton candy gives it a slight difference compared to other similar scents. It reminds me quite a bit of Atelier Cologne's Bergamote Soleil, but the slightly bitter tone tone in Bergamote Soleil is swapped out for sweet candy, and the musk is more airy and light in Byredos offering. I like Byredo better.

It's nice and pleaseant, great for summer and has reasonably good longevity for a summer citrus, but if you are financially interested you can find similar offerings at much better prices. Maybe without the cotton candy, but for the money you save you can buy some real cotton candy instead perhaps.

Very reminiscent of the fizzy citrus opening in Diptyque's "Oyedo", replacing the slightly herbal edge with a fun but subtle cotton candy.

It leans pretty heavily into the sweetness. It's got an intense candy-like quality that some may find overwhelming.

Overhyped. Sickly, headache-inducing artificial candied citrus air freshener. Too sweet for summer IMO, it's not fresh at all

Too much lemon cleaner for me unfortunately.
The notes sounds better than the scent itself. It's a no for me

Does smell similar to Oyedo, but it's just too soapy and floral. Kind of screechy and unpleasant too.

does remind of sunshine, but leans more heavy and musky on me. cotton candy acts as an addition to musk; i prefer smth lighter/more gourmand
