Bluebonnets, you say?
I was hoping this one would be really good, and it is. I wasn't exactly what to expect from the note pyramid. I mean, how should I expect to smell “Texas sunshine”? I was also really curious about the bluebonnet sauce. I’ve been around lots of bluebonnets in my time, and I could not tell you what a bluebonnet scent should smell like.
Sunscape is a fresh, melon-y scent backed by unusual floral notes. They’re not rose-y; they’re not neroli-y; they’re not lavender-y. This is something new to the palate. I’d say it’s floral in a vegetal kind of way, almost like you’re lying down in a bed of flowers and smelling the stems as well as the nectar.
Like many of the other freshies from the house, it dries down quite quickly and doesn’t have too much projection. And its sweetness is neither cloying nor overpowering, which is good. Refreshing, happy, and unique.
