Beautiful Orange Blossom
I'm loving this flanker, far better than the original. It's a beautiful vanilla and orange blend, with many qualities reminiscent of Dior's Hypnotic Poison. I personally consider it a sure crowd pleaser.

On the skin, Armani Code Luna is smooth, soft and enchanting. I wore a small spritz on the back of my hand while testing it last night, and my boyfriend's reaction towards it was priceless. Let's just say that men find this scent quite alluring on a woman's skin.

Even though the scent pyramid is a little similar to the original Armani Code for Women, this softer and more powdery version makes this combination more successful, at least in my opinion. What I love the most about Armani Code Luna is the gorgeous bitter orange note, somewhat syrupy in quality, blended with the vanillary and rich tonka bean. Amazing is all I'm saying.

I have my fingers crossed that this won't become yet another short-lived limited edition. If Giorgio Armani were willing to give it a chance, I'm certain that two years down the track, Armani Code Luna would be one of their best sellers.

So far, this fragrance wears surprisingly well, with moderate sillage and great longevity. I would happily wear this fragrance on a cold Winter's day or even to a semi-formal outing in a fancy bar. At present I'm undecided as to whether or not it works well during Summer.

It didn't take long for me to add this fragrance to my wishlist, and I'm sure it won't take long to buy it either. I'm quite hooked, and that's a rarity, especially in terms of today's new releases. This is one recent flanker that has made me sit up and take notice.

If a smooth citrus-vanilla is what you crave, by all means, give Armani Code Luna a try. The fact that Megan Fox is the face of this new fragrance should be enough to convince anyone that this is a sensual and beautiful little number.

A rough start with a happy ending
With high hopes I sprayed it and made a long, disappointed face: It was so spicy. And I thought to myself: "Great, another swap bottle." But wait, wait! I started blow drying my hair and realized that the scent became way sweeter and smoother. The touch of vanilla made it's way through (faintly but so deliciously!) Gave it another 20 minutes, and it unfolded its true beauty, very pleasant. Not as dramatic as I like my frags, but that makes it a great daytime eau de toilette with a hint of vanilla. It stays very close to the skin, so close, that I do not get any of its glory unless I bury my face into my wrist. I would love just a bit more silage and projection. I am a douser by nature, but I think this baby needs more dousing than I even usually feel compelled to. So I will give it another spray round, and see how it develops. All in all it is lovely. Not even close to be one of my favs, but it will have a place in my life, and I will still enjoy it.

Update: I wear it now for 3 hours and like it WAY better than this morning. Still poor silage and projection, but the scent itself is getting better and better as time progresses, and as tender as the scent is, it lingers on nicely for many hours.

Recycling Deluxe
My girlfriend used to really want something from my Dior Addict. Unfortunately, I didn't have any small bottles left for decanting, but my Alien little bottle was almost empty, so I lovingly poured it in there.
Ah, my girlfriend liked the scent even better. And I could bet she sold my secret formula to Armani. That stinks to me, I could have made a decent amount of money with a lot of creativity. Well, I would have had to think a lot about a bottle, unlike Armani. Oh wait, they just repainted their old glass, sorry.

Conclusion: Yes, nice. Hmm. I definitely smell jasmine. Otherwise, this version smells similar to the original, but warmer and less loud, more intimate, a bit less sweet.

I'm going to paint my nails now. I wonder if red suits me? *thoughtful*

The Second Chance...
With this fragrance, something happened to me that I had never experienced so intensely before.
When I bought L.I.L.Y. in May, the nice saleswoman sprayed this scent on a test strip for me... phew - it was unbearable, it smelled to me like a rheumatic ointment.

All summer long, I walked past Armani Code Luna with my nose in the air, until today, when I just wanted to quickly test Coco Noir.
After I had Coco on my right arm, the saleswoman graciously sprayed Armani Code Luna on my left arm (after all, I was humbly grateful for the Chanel scent...).

Cheerfully, I continued to the bookstore, surrounded by a scent that was by no means the new Chanel.... I really thought, who has such a wonderful scent on them here...

And there it was: this Armani Code Luna smelled completely different on me than on the test strip: totally heavenly, nothing reminded me of the rheumatic ointment anymore. A powdery warm, vanilla, fluffy scent - by no means intrusive and yet well lasting - now for a good 5 hours.
A creamy scent that a woman can snuggle into and feel good.

And now that the evenings are getting shorter, a woman needs something cozy and there was just a special size of 30ml available..... but only for that reason, the previously scorned scent was allowed to come home with me...

What do I learn from this?
In the future, I will really not test fragrances on test strips anymore, but only on my skin... I just need more arms - or I’ll use my legs too...

The Woman in the Light of the Evening Hour
As an observer of the perfume sector, I have noticed that a certain trend has emerged over the last two or three years.
Many manufacturers are relying on already established and successful perfumes.

True to the motto "why reinvent the wheel when the tracks are already laid," they present various offshoots of their "success" fragrances.

This started with various "Summer Editions," continued with "Intense" variants, and culminated in the hype of the "Sport" versions, which probably reached its absolute peak in 2012!

The Armani brand is one of the few designer brands that really launches several new fragrances every year. In addition to the already familiar summer versions, there are also some flankers added.

The "Armani Code" line seems to be the basis for fragrant novelties!

The women's section has now been well catered for. Whether it's "Code Sheer," "Code Elixir," "Code Le Parfum," "Code Mirror Edition," or the recently released "Code Luna" with the additional designation "Eau sensuelle," they seem to be designed for all kinds of tastes.
So there should be something for "everyone"! ;-)

Personally, I find this not only confusing but also a bit uninspired and boring!

But to be fair, it is quite clever from a marketing perspective!

Take an existing perfume, slightly alter the fragrance structure, put it in a familiar bottle that has been slightly modified in color, and present it as "the" new sensation!

It's best to put a celebrity as an effective figurehead in front, and success seems guaranteed!

The print campaign (photographed by Paolo Roversi) including a TV spot features an ethereal, innocent Valeria Bilello - an Italian actress. Another ad, seemingly a canceled version, shows Armani girl Megan Fox.

The bottle reflects the glass architecture of the original Code version for women.
The clear, feminine line mirrors the noble silhouette of the moon.
In frosted glass and light blue color accents, it perfectly underscores the theme.
The moon - a symbol of femininity, sensuality, and mystique.
All of this is meant to be united in the fragrance.

The theme is emphasized with the "Mirabilis," also known as Fleur de Lune - a flower that only blooms at night.

Dominique Ropion, who also created the original Code and Armani Mania, has crafted with the new Code Luna another enchanting interpretation of the original women's Code perfume.

While the name suggests a dark, mystical scent, Code Luna presents itself as extremely bright and delicate!

The fragrance starts with an unusually soft, almost velvety Petitgrain note.
The opening reminds me of Thierry Mugler's Cologne.

Neroli evokes the scent of bitter orange, whose aroma becomes increasingly stronger as it develops.

Floral accents give the heart a floral, powdery character, and it comes across as "powder sugar" sweet thanks to vanilla! I can agree with my predecessor's comparison to chewing gum, although the entire dry down does not feel "fruity"!

The final accord feels extremely linear and offers a nutty, spicy, and sweet flair with tonka bean and vanilla.

The longevity on my skin was an average of 6 hours, which is a good middle ground.

In summary, I must say that I personally find Code Luna quite successful, as it does not lose the character of the original! No, it literally picks it up and feels generally a bit softer and more balanced. A step down.

Overall very pleasing and appealing, so my girlfriend should consider herself lucky, as I will gift it to her!

Help is beautiful!! It smells like orange cream and rice steam!
Wonderfully well-groomed, not bothersome, delightful.

Light orange blossom water, citrus-fresh. Pleasant, as it's not as heavy as the usual Code.

Wow, a very fresh-spring-like scent, woody, less creamy-gourmand than its predecessors, great for "proper appointments" in a positive way!

Softer, a bit fresher and creamier than the big sister, but just as sexy, feminine, and elegant.

Powdery-floral-sweet-creamy. Strong vanilla powder on the floral arrangement. A bit too much. It lacks freshness in the scent.

Powdery, creamy, and overly sweet fabric softener code. It gets very close to the skin quickly and has hardly any projection. What a shame.

It has that lovely note reminiscent of Double Bubble gum from my childhood, sentimental value :-) Does anyone know the gum?

Light, feminine scent. The vanilla combined with orange blossom is very seductive. Weak H&S, unfortunately discontinued.
