Warm, spicy, well-blended
This is a flanker I didn't buy in winter and managed to grab with a great reduction now it's summer ... and doesn't it bear one of the most complicated names in Givenchy's history? "Poetry of a Winter Perfume" hits the target with this perfumed missile - provided your aim is NOT to smell like a bunch of freshly picked roses. "Poetry of a Winter Perfume" dislikes daylight and loves winter nights. It is a mix of warm spices (star anis, cinnamon, ginger) with large overlays of dark resins and a touch of a velvety rose. The fragrance is quite voluptuous and if you don't like traditional Christmas spices, you should stay away from it. I think it's a great scent for those who want to calm down when they get a bit flustered and the spicy-oriental mixture feels very comfortable. I also smell a whiff of the good old "Organza Indécence" in "Poésie d'un Parfum d'Hiver", at least it points into the same direction: warm, spicy and well-blended.
