Givenchy III is the first perfume I ever bought. And I still remember that I was totally fascinated by what flew out of the bottle towards me. Of course, I had tried the one or other fragrance before, basically samples that my mother brought from the drugstore (my mother was a trained druggist, there's no more nowadays), but something like this had never been there.
So I was suitably intrigued, at my reaction today. Well, the fascination has faded. For this I have probably tried too many fragrances in the meantime. But beautiful he is and quite still something special.
GIII opens fresh green spicy with a floral inkling. The peach does not present itself to me directly, my guess is that it softens the bergamot and so the top note contains freshness but not effervescence. The heart note presents itself to me as a floral melange, from which I can only filter out rose and garden carnation, with the spiciness of the top note continuing to accompany me.
My perception of the base fluctuates between light, lightly flavored tobacco and Remy Martin cognac with warmth, gentle spice and a slightly soapy note.
GIII is an elegant fragrance that, not only because you can hardly get it anymore, is too bad for everyday use. I would pick a special occasion to wear it.
