"The intense Aqua Allegoria Forte fragrance collection is a warm and gentle accompaniment on a journey to the wonders of this world: these eaux de parfums celebrate the intense beauty of nature bathed in the golden rays of a setting sun." i have already tested
Aqua Allegoria Forte Bosca Vanilla from this series and today I am devoting myself to
Aqua Allegoria Forte Rosa Palissandro. In this fragrance, the freshness of rosewood meets both the delicacy of rose and the intensity of patchouli.
The very first impression was extremely rosy and floral. There was no hint of woods or spices at all on the first whiff. Only a short time later did a slightly woody undertone join the rather dominant Turkish rose. According to Guerlain, over 90% of the ingredients are of natural origin and this is also reflected in the fragrance. It may seem a little monotonous and you don't get much more than a simple rose here, but it is natural and authentic.
Another aspect that surprised me was the unisex categorization. I couldn't find an official statement on the manufacturer's website as to whether this is a men's/women's/unisex fragrance. Therefore, while I generally accept that the fragrance is listed here as unisex, the mere fact that most Aqua Allegoria fragrances from Guerlain are women-only fragrances still leaves me skeptical. I am therefore not surprised that of the 20 registered users of the fragrance on Parfumo, 80 percent are women and 10 percent are men. This confirms my personal impression that this fragrance could be a women-only scent.
And similar to the fragrance DNA, the performance could also be described as unspectacularly mediocre. I was able to smell four sprays on my neck for about four hours. That's not exactly "forte" for an EdP, but it's still okay.
The bottle is beautiful, looks as if countless roses have been squeezed out and for anyone wondering why a bee actually adorns the bottle and the upper part looks like honeycombs, here is the explanation: "Since 1853, the bee has been the symbol of the House of Guerlain. This extraordinary pollinator gives the world the most beautiful flowers, which provide perfumers with the richest palette for their compositions, and produces products in its hive that are invaluable to Guerlain skincare. The bee is not only an environmental guardian and guardian of biodiversity, but also crucial to food security on our planet. As they are acutely endangered, they must be protected at all costs. Since 2011, Guerlain has been working with fifteen partners and initiatives through its "Guerlain For Bees" protection programme: mobilizing a network of allies that is constantly expanding."
In terms of price, you have to fork out around 120 euros for 125ml. I think that's too much given the mediocrity of the product.
With
Santal Royal Eau de Parfum, Guerlain also offers a rose fragrance in the same price category, which is a much more interesting and, above all, more unisex version of the rose with dark, smoky accents and also performs much better. And if you only want to spend a fraction of the money, you will be just as satisfied with
Tea Rose Eau de Toilette.
