Aqua Allegoria Harvest Mandarine Basilic Guerlain 2023

It's obviously better than the OG, with more precision and better image quality.Certainly, if I had only tried it on a test strip, it might not have been that different from OG (from memory). But the scent of the Harvest series changes completely when you put it on your skin. It goes from 2D to 3D.
It has a bluish orange scent, like grandma peeling tangerines right in front of you. High quality and light. OG is more like a "perfume", but this one smells like juice and fruit, and doesn't have much of the woody notes of OG. Unisex. Of course it doesn't smell like black tea. It spreads a bitter and sour taste, like tangerine peel oil sprayed on the face. However, as others have said, I will say it again, there is no clear scent like green tea. Indeed, the expression "mandarin refined as a perfume" is perfect. If Mandarin Basilic OG was always like this, I would have bought a full bottle.
Recommended for those looking for a casual mandarin juice perfume. However, unlike sweet orange juice, the "sugar" disappears at the end. (Do you understand what I mean?) It feels so much more refreshing in the summer.The realistic outline of the skin's bitterness disappears after about 30 minutes.The scent certainly disappears quickly, and in midsummer it lasts about two hours after applying it to the skin.
The Harvest series itself, including other Rosa Rossa and Nerolia Vetiver, has a scent that is on a different level from OG.

I have worn all of the Mandarin Basilic, that is the Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic , the Aqua Allegoria Forte Mandarine Basilic and this gorgeous Aqua Allegoria Harvest Mandarine Basilic .
To anyone hesitating on wich would be the best; to my citrus lover nose there is no doubt : this harvest edition combine the beauty of it's sisters to make it into one perfect mandarin scent. It has both the freshness, cooling effect of the classic version, and the deep acidic greenness of the forte. But, instead of drying down into a sweet floral honey like the latter, it dries into this freshie, cool scent. This is such a awsome feel good perfume, one of the best citruses i have found so far. However, be warry : Longevity of the opening is about 15 minutes, no more... So unless you are a fan of green-fresh-citrus who dosnt care about performances, you should probably be on your way

My boyfriend surprised me with this bottle of the Harvest version on Christmas. We thought it had long been discontinued, but he managed to grab a bottle at the airport during one of his work travel. Somewhat a blind-buy, I was curious to compare it to the Forte version that has entered my collection (the OG hasn't made through, though).

Mandarin is undoubtedly the star here in all of its tangy, sweet, fruity, fresh, tart facets. You want a mandarin fragrance without all the bells and whistles? This is the one. Basil is subdued, a little green facet to support the star. Green tea brings freshness and another multi-dimensional facet of green. Woody notes warm the scent on the skin, toning down the sweetness of the mandarin. All in all, it's a juicy, refreshing experience, perfect for summer. Unfortunately, the longevity on the skin is similar to the OG.

I'm still very happy I got my hands on this version and will be cherishing it until the end since it's a LE in my country that is no longer offered in store or through discounters. It's probably my favorite out of the three, although I wish it had the same longevity as the Forte version. Still a masterfully well-blended perfume from Guerlain once again!

When the fresh juice runs over your hands and the bitter-sweet peel leaves orange-yellow traces under your thumbnail? When you can't stop sniffing the remnants of the peel and the entire room is filled with the most beautiful sour-bitter-sweet mixture of the wonderful essential oils of the fruit.

Yes, that’s exactly how Mandarine-Basilic Harvest smells. The top note, right after spraying, is the most realistic fresh mandarin I have ever smelled in a fragrance. I have actually examined all 3 of this line closely and must say; this one is, in my opinion, the most rounded and the most beautiful. Here’s a little comparison to help you decide:

If the MB Original is a bit too herbaceous/basil-heavy & soapy for you, I would recommend the Harvest. Because with the OG, I sometimes felt like I was inhaling bubble bath. In contrast to the OG, the citrus note in the Harvest lasts through to the end. So, the mandarin and the green notes resonate evenly together. With the OG, I found the green notes to come to the forefront quite quickly.
The Harvest smells generally more photorealistic. Just incredibly real, and I have longed for such a fragrance, as the essential oil of mandarin has such a mood-lifting effect and makes your mouth water.

The Forte is also very nice. However, it leans more towards an overripe or candied mandarin with much more syrupy depth. It’s better when you don’t smell it directly from your arm, as it is quite strong and sweet. In the dry down, you can hardly smell a mandarin anymore. It is really sexy and beautiful, but in terms of scent, it is very different from its 2 brothers. The more realistic mandarin is offered by the other 2.

They are both fresh, yet the Harvest is a bit warmer, more concentrated, closer to the skin, sweet/bitter, smelling more of the wonderfully tangy peel, somehow brighter and sunnier than the original, which I find to be very cooling and more bounces off the skin, hovering around your head. The OG has a more complex development, as it moves from mandarin juice to an extremely soapy, refreshing, yet not entirely harmonious basil tea for me.

I clearly prefer the Harvest with its simpler scent progression, as it captures the most beautiful mandarin in its original and unadulterated form, with lighter green and tea-like accents that never steal the show from the fruit.

It should be added: It hardly lasts on me. Still, for me, it’s a totally valuable purchase that I do not regret, as the quality is so beautiful. I will see how the other 2 hold up in the future. I had the impression that the original was more detectable/better sillage and that the Forte lasts quite long, maybe one of them will find its way to me. Really great scent.

Update: It doesn’t hold up so badly after all! Yay. I initially sprayed it too often, so I became nose-blind. It then makes a brilliant switch in the base. Very light green tea with crushed basil leaves + light woods. It resonates with you like an essential oil. Such a mood this fragrance, really. I can still perceive it after 4 1/2 hours, in this delicious green/aromatic form. Chef's kiss!

For me, purely in terms of scent, it's one of the best I've ever smelled. If you like fruity sweet mandarin, you are exactly right here. Unfortunately, the longevity and sillage are really below average, and therefore the price-performance ratio is not really good in my eyes.

This fragrance is more suitable for someone who wears perfume just for themselves, as people around you will only be able to smell it with close body contact.

I still like it. Since it simply smells so good to me, it makes the other negative factors a bit more bearable.
