Freshy with a twist
Summer is knocking at the door so I'm glad to have this fresh and interesting perfume in my closet. It's a freshy with a classic vibe. Yes it starts out familiar with some bergamot and grapefruit, but quickly the patchouli and leather take over, almost turning it into a chypre-ish grandpa juice. That patchouli is right up my alley. None of that damp moist stuff, more like the crisp earthy stuff.

I'm not really familiar with the rest of the Habit Rouge line (yet) but I just love how this smells. Maybe if you expect something completely different, then it might be a letdown for you. But I have no history with it so I'm just enjoying this to the max.

The only gripe I have is that it just doesn't last very long and it doesn't project that well. After 6 hours you'll really have to dig your nose into your skin to still smell it.

Nice with another name
I have the pleasure to try this scent as we speak and I can say that with another name, maybe it would have been better received.

It starts citrussy, followed by a bit of sweetness from the mathe tea and the rose and then it becomes an unidentified mix of smells, like many designers.

Habit Rouge is one of the most famous line from GUERLAIN, having the EDT and EDP but so far no flankers, to the original. When Guerlain announced this I was curious to see how would they understand the HR DNA in 2022 and add some modernity to it.

Well, I would say that this release has not one single thing for what smell regards to the original ones, apart from the name, I see 0 similarity to the EDT/EDP. Given that it tries to gain attention using the Habit Rouge name, it has big shoes to fill in and unfortunately I think it fails to do that.

This one is a nice, pleasant and summery type of smell .. with lots of potential but not power, unfortunately. I had to spray 5-6 times to get a glimpse of what this smells like and in about one hour, was already a very close to the skin scent.

For somebody who likes understated scents and has a professional environment where bold/loud perfumes are not appreciated, this would be a nice versatile purchase.

After around 10 minutes, it reminds me a bit of ROJA Oligarch, but not as in they smell similar .. but something about it, reminds me remotely of ROJA.

It has literally 0 projection and even the newest batches of Aventus/Reflection Man are stronger, as a comparison.

I think it´s a good addition to their line, but it´s nothing more than a summer hit like many other .. most likely until Dec. 2022 noboy will evern know it existed, but time will tell.

Thanks for reading the review, enjoy my video.

I give him more points...
Thanks to a nice perfumer, I got to test Habit Rouge L'Instinct several times and I am sure that 6.4 is not enough. On the other hand, there is an indecision as to where the fragrance really wants to go. That makes it unrounded, whether it's the hemp or the leather or the combination, something doesn't really fit together in my opinion.
Sillage and longevity are okay to good for me, but I also expected that from a Guerlain fragrance.
At the beginning it is refreshing, you can clearly notice the bergamot and grapefruit, but it doesn't last very long for me - I think after 10 minutes it was "unfortunately" over, because I liked the initial interplay. After that it becomes greener, more and more.....
At some point, vanilla appears in the background, which from then on alternates with the green notes. Is that leather in the background that I smell? Could be......
I notice 0 rose, neither at the beginning nor at the end, nor in between.

A soft, green fragrance rather for the colder days, if you have a business meeting, for example, you can apply it super I think. It certainly looks appropriate in a chic outfit and doesn't overdo it either.

Autumn and winter will come at some point and an official occasion will certainly come too, as soon as the time comes, add the text here......

In its aquatics/marineness I find a distant similarity to Blue de Chanel, but as in a relatively bad aproximation to it. Don't like it.

What a nice freshy. Starts citrussy and turns earthier a time goes by. I’m going to enjoy this one in the summer.

Synthetic rose-patchouli with a herbal bitterness. Smells like many things, but Habit Rouge is not one of them.

A minimalist Habit Rouge, insulting to liken this to BDC. This outpaces BDC and isn't even Habit Rouge's full form.

This one’s hard to describe. Feel like I get something different with every wear. Synthetic citruses on top of a rose/grassy/vanilla? base.

has more backing and distinction of which i struggle to find in mens colognes of this easy-to-imagine citrus/spice composition.
