Where is the coconut?
I was so excited to get my samples of this scent. I love tropicals and especially the coconut aspect in them. Coccobello is an odd one and hard for me to love. On my skin, it's a salty, green mess. Not one pin drop of coconut could be found shining through at all. I normally like both salty and green, but somehow this one is just off for me. It's almost bitter smelling really.

Coconut with a touch of vanilla
When I first sprayed Coccobello, I was reminded of a particular suntan lotion from many years ago. Coconut, and something slightly green.

And that is pretty much what Coccobello remained throughout -- a very linear coconut, with a touch of fresh greenness up front, and a touch of vanilla at bottom. But mostly coconut.

Coconuts and the Sea
Sprays on with a sweet, vanilla-forward coconut. Over time, undertones of sea salt and incensed woods come forth too, really enlivening this otherwise basic coconut scent at first. Quite enjoyable, although it veers a bit towards a generic coconut sunlotion at times, lacking some of the fully natural aroma.

I smelled this on me for 4-5 hours without much trouble, so I'd say the longevity is moderate with comparable projection accompanying it. No real issues here, but also not a standout.

Overall, a good coconut fragrance, which is definitely underrated.

Highly Enjoyable
I always find it fun to have scents under my nose that are astonishing, quirky, or completely extraordinary. Coccobello definitely falls into that category.

Coconut and vanilla are, in my opinion, notes that I have only known and liked in sweet combinations. Well, maybe not as a fragrance, since I only like gourmands to a limited extent, but certainly in sweets, cocktails, cakes, etc. Experiencing these notes in a completely different combination is an olfactory Aha moment for me. Here is a scent that is completely unconventional, as I can easily imagine the combination of gardenia and cedar. Salty notes - whatever that may be - I can also see as a pleasant addition, although not in conjunction with vanilla, but the coconut screams so loudly in between that it simply feels wrong to my nose, or rather smells wrong ;) It’s as if I’m mixing cars with a floral pattern. I know that was a trend for a while, but it’s not harmonious despite everything. And so, Coccobello is also not a harmonious scent for me.

I would never want to wear this fragrance. However, I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know it, and I am glad that there are still perfume houses that have creativity, courage, and obviously joy in offering unusual scents.

So clever goes coconut.
Here it is - an everyday wearable drop of fragrance. Exotic, unusual, not too sweet and despite the island theme, quite wearable - at least when the thermometer climbs above 20 degrees.

What first captivates me about Coccobello is the fantastic bottle. Heeley always hits my taste in that regard, but this is the first fragrance that can olfactorily keep up with the casual design. Admittedly - it didn't have a hard time. I am a big fan of coconut, both in food and fragrance, but Ziereremit has already typed a few true words about this: The cosmetics industry has unfortunately been so wasteful with coconut that one's appetite for it has long since faded - especially since it is usually mixed with cloying sweetness.

Exceptions prove the rule - and I am particularly glad about that in the case of Coccobello! It is indeed a rather "bitter" coconut, hanging in the bloom of its life on a green palm, wafted by a salty sea breeze. A gust of wind sweeps it to the ground, where it lands among various woods and a few flowers, releasing its delicious, naturally subtle nutty aroma.

I feel instantly transported to a Caribbean beach bar. The air is clear, the sea a rich turquoise, beside me a few palm trees, in front of me a creamy cocktail that I sip from every now and then.

Coccobello may not have the makings of a signature scent, as it is too specific, but now and then, when one simply wishes to be on vacation, this little water can sweeten the day, and completely without sweetness.

Grew on me. I don't really detect the green notes that others mention. Opens delicious coconut, dries to masculine wood. Underrated here

Feminine, rubbery green take on coconut. Soft and airy, inoffensive but not terribly exciting, close to the skin.

A green and slightly aquatic coconut on a wooden base. Rather unsweet but still has a tropical vibe. Lightly salty coconut, lovely.

Completely unsweet coconut (reminiscent of warm fig) adorned with flowers, on soft wood. A South Sea holiday image.

Unsweet salty dry coconut. Plus green herbs, flowers + a lot of wood. It doesn’t come together for me. Just unsweet isn’t enough.

Experimental perfumery. Like the ice cream flavors Nutella-Garlic, the main thing is to have tried it ;)

Can you smell unsweetened, lightly woody, not overwhelming, clear, subtly fruity, and elegant like coconut without smelling like a Raffaelo? Yes.

A hint of salt notes + palm leaf. Light woods + a bit of resin. Touch of coconut + vanilla. Very flat, monotonous. H/S little, skinny. Unisex.
