a good dose of nostalgia
Right from the start of our acquaintance, this composition reminds me of the rich scent moments we were so fortunate to experience in the last century: Opulent, floral, spicy, oriental, and sensually warm, we were enveloped back then.
Even though aldehydes and oak moss are missing, "Celima" has the same effect on me.
This fragrance lady, with her distinctly perceivable retro charm (aptly named by our knowledgeable Gold), hails from 2014; she is just ten years old!
Very skillfully, quite unusual ingredients have been mixed into a delicious scent aperitif right from the beginning:
The recognizable aroma of bitter orange, also known as pomeranze, gets a special touch from the addition of coriander and a good portion of rum: Sparkling spice reaches the nose and prepares it for the upcoming heart of this artwork!
Having already arrived well in the scent and being correspondingly curious, the stroll through beds full of blooming, spicy-scented carnations, over which a spicy veil of benzoin resin smoke hovers, is a pleasure with truly nostalgic moments.
You are slowly getting to know it: My love for carnations and their spicy scents!
Rich trellises of ylang-ylang, whose pale yellow flowers seem to sprinkle pure, honey-scented sunshine, contribute to the feeling of well-being.
The senses are played with cleverly; they are now awakened and ready to indulge in the erotic-warm mixture of dark, earthy patchouli (of course, a little dirty here too), animalistic-creamy sandalwood aroma, and sensually soft vanilla (= pure seduction).
Something great, rich, and unexpected settles on my skin, stretches and sprawls, bringing many memories, not just of the enjoyed scents of the past. Oh, no: Not just those!
This creation by perfumer Henry Cremona for the brand Henry Jacques is surprisingly modern as well: Straightforward and completely unpowdered!
"Celima" is worth getting to know better and deserves a grand appearance, especially now in the splendidly and festively illuminated and flower-decorated rooms, at concerts and balls.
By the way: The ball season also begins this year on November 11!
Dear Theresa has once again sent me on a wonderful scent journey with her generous decant; how she allows me to indulge in fragrant beauty and memories through her gifts!
I thank her very much for that!
