Bright, clean, herbaceous and very long lasting. It smells like the embrace of a warm breezy summer afternoon.

Bitter, green herbs and icy cold pear opening, then it turns into the OG H24 but on mute. Kinda disappointing.

Incomprehensible. At least with the EDT and EDP you can sense the noveau-fougeré inspiration, but here it dissolves into something boring.

Now they (re) made it for the masses in the mall, all sorts, all genders, more common , sweet and unremarkable. The EDP is the best

Good news among the flanker fire dumpster. Super fresh, sweet, herbal & menthol fruity scent. Worth the performance if found discounted.

A fresher take on the OG. Green, fresh, mentholated. Just ok. I prefer the OG

To be honest, almost all of them smell the same. Here with a little more fruity notes. That's it. I like the DNA

Begins with fresh grassy pear, and the fruity and grassy notes leave their place to the fresh physcool note

A pear sorbet...
It is a clean, conventional "creation" with an obvious lack of inspiration ...
This realization, this retouch with a lack of originality, is perfect for the summer and hot periods to come! Why not!
This retouch is sorely lacking in desire, lack of breath, even with notes of fresh herbs... it’s almost tasteless!
Excuse me ! I’m going to be obnoxious! Stop!
Catherine Nagel inflicts us, once again, a touch of "Air Wick Active Fresh"!
It’s still the big gap at Hermès! Between, the sublime creations of Jean-Claude Ellena and the warmed marmalades of Christine Nagel, there is only a cauldron!
It’s like a spring concentrate in a garden with pears! Just pears against a gray granite wall!
It smells good! But...
Good hold and a medium sillage.

Not too bad, I must say
So, one can wonder how is it that a big luxury house like Hermès is not making any waves into the perfume industry.

They are consistent, traditional I might say and even going a bit on the safe side .. far away from the creativity of Amouage during the Christopher Chong´s times.

I do have big favorites from them like Terre d´Hermes EDT / Eau Tres Fraiche & Equipage.

Since Master Ellena decided to part ways in 2016 with the brand, for reasons I do not fully understand, there is a new "Nose" Inhouse perfumer called: Christine Nagel.

Up to now, I was not very impressed by any of her work, which was either too green or too safe for my taste. But since Oud Alezan got released, a beautiful mix of oud rose à la POAL or Ombre Nomade, I got curious about her new creative ways.

And this brings us to the "Herbes Vives" which is an awesome green, fresh scent with an ingredient from MANE called "Physcool®":

"It has been over 20 years since MANE patented its Physcool®, a molecule recognised for its significant long-lasting cooling effect."

For me, this smells like a fresh, raw & green fig, combined with fresh cut grass and a fruity sorbet of pears.
The combination is very fortunate and I enjoy smelling this quite a lot, for a new Hermès. Might this be the start of a new winning series from the brand? We will see.

This lasts a long time, it is fresh, masculine and does not smell like a copy paste of something else or the eternal sage with bergamot "à la" Rabanne, Armani or YSL.

Tres bien, madame Nagel !

The new manager
There is nothing aquatic about this H24 Vives, it is essentially green, with a hint of fruitiness. The herbaceous opening is reminiscent of foliage and is immediately accompanied by the pear note. After less than ten minutes the pear is now at its epilogue. At the same time the Physcool molecule comes to life among the previously mentioned foliage. Physcool is supposed to remind you of mint, but in this case it does so extremely subtly. It's there, but it doesn't have the intensity of peppermint or glacial mint. It's as if, returning from the market, 2 mint leaves had fallen from our shopping bag, among some pruning clippings. While we collect them we feel a mix of notes of foliage, sprigs together with mint. It is a masculine perfume, also valid on social occasions.

Sweetest H24
I tested samples of H24 EdT, H24 EdP and H24 Herbes Vives on three consecutive warm days. The performance for all three is about average. For longevity, I got about 6 to 7 hours for the EdT and EdP while Herbes Vives was about 4 to 5 hours. Projection for all three was about arm's length for an hour or two. For me overall, the EdT performed best followed by the EdP (both were close) and lastly Herbes Vives.

H24 EdT is a really nice aromatic green fragrance. It's a pleasant, fresh green, not pungent. Some green fragrances are too much - smelling like your hands after pulling weeds from the garden. H24 is not like that, with the green accord being a smooth part of the overall scent.

H24 EdP struck me as more woody and less green with a more obvious touch of florals. The woody accord is also smoothed out here some, so it isn't sharp. H24 EdP also seemed a bit sweeter than the EdT.

H24 Herbes Vives ("live herbs") did not deliver a herbal experience for me. In the opening, I did not get much green or herbs but immediately the sweetness of the pear. (The EdT opens green while the EdP opens green/woody.) Over its life, it was also the sweetest of the three. Upon dry down, there was a more subtle green accord, but less than the other two. I did not get any pronounced cooling or refreshing aspect from the Physcool that I could tell.

All three H24's are sufficiently different that it wouldn't be redundant to own all three if you like them all. All three are masculine fragrances that would be pretty versatile. They are reserved enough for office use. The only restriction I'd say is they are really only useful on warmer to hot days or nights. I suspect on cold winter days, all three H24's would be lost and fade quickly away.

I preferred H24 EdT best and have added it to my shopping list.

Pure nature!
I start in a meadow of flowers in
late May, just before the great heat of summer, not cheesy, in the middle of nature! Unbelievable. The forest is back there too, but now stay in a clearing in the fresh forest in May for just under an hour. I spend the next 4-5 hours lying in the wet hay after a thunderstorm. It smells so soothing and "finding the middle, grounding". It brings back feelings from my childhood when I put my nose to my wrist. So real. We were always in the forest back then, we were forest children and I recognize so many fresh, real smells from back then. But only from this meadow.
Somehow you hide a summer in a meadow, just the way it smells.
After 5-6 hours, I now want to go back to May and start again.

This fragrance gets me through the day so well and reassures me that "all is well".

This will be my spring fragrance!
