The Oceanic Scent That Converted Me
I’m a sailor and I grew up near the water, so I’m really picky about aquatic/oceanic scents—many of them remind me more of a scented candle in a retired couple’s beach house than the actual experience of being close to water.
I’m pleased to announce that this is an aquatic/oceanic that really does smell like being near the water, not in a fishy or kelpy way, but in a “platonic ideal of fresh rain on fresh green plants” way. The “Baltic sea mist” note, while I couldn’t differentiate between it and any other sea breeze, definitely creates a coastal feeling, rather than simply a rainy one. Long after the drydown, the vetiver and other earthy elements of the scent still remain. Clean, romantic, and infinitely wearable.
