A fragrance like a summer breeze... and just as quickly gone as that
This morning after getting up, I decided to apply Classique Summer. Although, to be honest, applying is not quite the right term here; it’s more about a quick spritz.
Now I have to hurry to describe the scent - because I already know that the fragrance will no longer be perceivable to me and my surroundings even before I finish this comment.
I really like the scent itself: It is powdery, floral, and slightly citrusy. Very feminine, yet hardly sweet. Exactly my style. Therefore, it doesn’t surprise me that despite some reservations about summer fragrances, I have stuck with this one.
I was already aware that this fragrance is meant for generous use. I also knew in advance that one often has to reapply summer scents multiple times a day. But Classique Summer 2013 takes it to another level: Reapplying here would mean spraying extensively every 5 to 10 minutes. That’s just not practical.
At first, I thought it was my skin. But it doesn’t help to spray the fragrance in my hair or on my clothes, as it disappears just as quickly there.
This would severely limit its usability for me: It’s not suitable as an office fragrance. After all, I can’t subject my dear colleague to a cloud of scent every 10 minutes. The fragrance also doesn’t hold up during other activities outside my own four walls - who wants to carry a 100ml bottle everywhere and regularly pull it out for a refresh? It’s nice at home on hot and humid days when I can reapply each time I go to the bathroom and enjoy the pleasantly fragrant cooling evaporation.
Conclusion: I believe this is definitely the end for me and summer fragrances. But never say never...
