I know the Wow for Men, which didn't bother me, but didn't create a Wow effect for me either.

The women's version is a bit different.

This Wow doesn't come across as harmless; it boldly reaches my nose with a strong raspberry scent.
Then it indulges in roses - full to overflowing.
Not so great for me. (Rhyme!)

The fragrance has a certain heaviness that becomes too intense for me.
And now - where there's planing, there are shavings - a load of wood, which doesn't exactly make Wow easier.
Wow transforms into Au.

A nice start - unfortunately a thick, massive ending.

End of the line - and enough rhyming.

Well, Joop WOW! ... the first time I sprayed it in the department store, together with my better half and the kids (they are still little and really have no idea about perfume, but since Mom and Dad are a bit perfume-crazy, they both now pretend to know something ^^)

So I sprayed it on, and a harsh medicinal smell hit me, or as the child said ... yikes, it smells like alcohol ... yeah, the first spray didn't convince me at all.
But it was just a quick spray and not a proper test, but the first impression always sticks, and I had pretty much written off the scent.

A few weeks later, I got a sample of the fragrance, and on a Saturday, I rummaged through my box and came across it again.

I sprayed it on and thought to myself ... come on, you’re lucky, you get a second chance now ... so show me if you can do something after all ^^ I tried to concentrate and really perceive the scent consciously.

The medicinal note at the beginning, I perceived quite differently today, I liked it, and soon I could also smell a lovely raspberry, I kept sniffing again and again ... the berry was really noticeable and had a light freshness and quite a bit of bitterness. It’s once again a scent that is different; I, who have always only worn sweet fragrances, was surprised that I liked it.
Gradually, a really great woody-spicy note came in, which captivated me, and the scent became very warm for me at the end, but it lost its fruity note because of that.

I don’t want to put myself in a difficult position here, but if I had to summarize the scent, I would say it’s a mix of Perles de Lalique and Black Orchid, with a hint of Oud Black Vanilla :-D.

In any case, it didn’t let me go after the test, and I kept an eye out for it and then actually got it for a super bargain price (23 euros for 40ml). WOW!

I would definitely recommend the scent for autumn and winter, and in the office test, even though I thought the longevity wouldn’t be great, it ended up convincing me. It actually survived a 7-hour office day, and as mentioned above, I particularly like it in the base notes. It feels intense and cozy, gives me warmth, and I’m happy when I smell it on myself :-D.

It made good use of its second chance and really wrapped me around its finger ;-)

I have no regrets about the purchase and have worn the scent quite often since I got it. I’ve even received compliments when wearing the fragrance, so the sillage isn’t bad either ;-) it seems to be well-received in my environment when I wear it.

I would definitely recommend it.

There are many larger and smaller mysteries of humanity - one of the biggest for me is why perfume creators, especially in the mainstream sector, reflexively have to mar almost EVERY rose scent with raspberry. I enjoy eating raspberries, but I do not want to smell like them, damn it. Sweet perfumes annoy me endlessly, moderately on other people, massively on myself, and raspberry is, after all, the queen of penetrating, artificial sweetness in far too many mainstream perfumes.
This perfume is for me like the battle between good and evil - and no, that is not a compliment. Dark, spicy roses, woodiness, and subtle musk give the scent a dark, seductive aura that still remains soft and cuddly. Patchouli gives it an earthy, almost grave-like base. Up to this point, I and my dark, little Gothic soul are in love with the scent!
'Congratulations, theme hit!', I think as I watch the ad clip for the perfume. Inspired by James Bond, you see a big cat in black and white fleeing from approaching police sirens in a wild chase, the perfume bottle securely clamped between its teeth. In a grand mansion, it finds refuge and brings the bottle to its mistress, a dark beauty in a black dress, who sprays herself with it, striding down a magnificent entrance hall and then opening the door to an attractive Bond clone in a suit and bow tie.
But there is no fairy tale without a villain, and here too, someone or something has to intrude annoyingly: It is the raspberry that hovers over everything like an evil curse... WHY ONLY?!
The top note is too sweet for me, and I would like to impatiently swat away this sweet raspberry attack. Away with it, away with it, AWAY WITH IT! After a while, the penetrating, artificial berry sweetness finally fades, and from here on, I really like the scent. Unfortunately, a remnant of it remains, so it is unfortunately not THE dream scent for me, but I do like it. A nocturnal march through a dark enchanted forest, overgrown with thorny berry vines, black, spiky roses, and the woody, herb-spicy aroma of a forest at night. If only someone would kindly pick the pink squeaky berry out of this dark-beautiful dream?! Thank you!

Finally, they are back in the supermarkets, the Christmas cookies, the gingerbread... and finally, the perfume shops are gearing up for the big showdown of the year, at the end of which even the last somewhat tired-looking "husband" will place a "wow" bottle under the Christmas tree.
So what could be more fitting than to fly with my husband once again to the perfume shop I trust in New York City, to test the latest creations at the foot of Trump Tower? Ryanair flies us almost to 5th Avenue, where we can wave to Elizabeth Arden, who just happens to look out of the red door as we zoom over her head. Wow!!!
Of course, we clearly perceive her perfume, the scent of freedom and adventure.
When we arrive at my perfume shop, the manager Ludmilla Chutina greets me with a giant bottle of the new Joop!!! fragrance. She is Russian and pronounces the name "Joop!" very well, as a famous Russian curse sounds very similar. We both laugh heartily and amuse ourselves as always.
Yes, and the scent is delightful, delicious!
- I immediately think of my late great-aunt Princess Amalia... Raspberries. Such juicy, red berries. They are served alongside a bouquet of roses that smells just like the one a gentleman had laid down for me a few days ago in the entrance hall of the Ritz in Paris.
... wow, wow, wow - those were roses... and this divine new perfume from a brilliant designer from Potsdam smells just like that.
Make Wolfgang great again - says the charming Ludmilla in the perfume shop in New York, because even my husband has now realized how important it is to be internationally present. That's why he quickly returns from his brief visit with the Lehman Brothers on Wall Street back to us ladies... haha, he basically rejoins our group - and he too cannot escape the beauty of the scent.
White musk and patchouli form the noble base, oh, I cuddle up to my husband for a moment and remember how just a few years ago we danced stylishly together with Priscilla Presley at an Elvis Memorial Party in Bad Nauheim, back then I was also wearing a Joop! fragrance, it was "Berlin," but this new one here, made for New York... simply "Wow".
And he quickly pulls out his Platinum card to buy me the bottle, yes, he does everything for me, my Alfred!
Swiftly back on the plane and quickly as the wind to Neuschwanstein, where we recently adorn an apartment in the castle with our presence.
I will immediately "wow" our damask-covered four-poster bed (a little pun, isn't it, who would think of anything dirty?)... - and spray it with Joop! Wow!
Thus, this delightful scent of rose and musk, this stunningly modern yet romantic fragrance, will linger in our bedroom for imaginative inspiration... (a rascal thinks ill of it!).

At first, one can perceive an intense and fine floral note, which also brings a very delicate greenish and very light creamy touch, thanks to the rose that I unfortunately cannot identify exactly.

At the same time, the rose is accompanied by a bright, sweet, and fruity nuance that unfortunately does not harmonize very well with the rose and can indeed evoke the image of a rose-raspberry body lotion, but this does not quite succeed, as in my opinion, a little too much has been exaggerated with the applied synthetic elements, since the rose carries a scratchy tone in the background, making the top note seem a bit uneven to me.
But that could very well be intentional.

This constellation is perceptible on my skin for 20 minutes before the heart note unfolds.

Now a bright, intense peony is noticeable, which gives the heart note a slightly "fluttering" and very subtly powdery quality, and at the same time, there is another rose that appears deeper and fuller and has a slightly meaty quality, but also exudes a subtle soapy aura, and I can very well imagine that the Taif rose was used here.

I personally like the heart note a little better, but unfortunately, the synthetic elements are still in the way and ensure that the notes are perceived individually, giving the feeling that the two notes cannot unite, or are even hindered from doing so.

After 1.5 hours, the Taif rose and the peony I suspected have managed to assert themselves against the synthetic elements; they are still present, but allow the two notes the opportunity to finally unite, and suddenly this scratchy tone has completely disappeared, and the heart note now smells pleasantly rosy and upliftingly airy, but having to wait a good 2 hours until the fragrance develops a pleasant wearability would simply take too long for me.

The heart note is perceptible on my skin for 3 hours before the base takes over.

The base smells really very pleasant, probably because I love patchouli; it appears very clear and earthy, bringing a slight sweet twist with it and is kept pleasantly clear and pure by the white musk, without reminding one of freshly washed laundry.

The entire base is enveloped by a transparent woody note that I could not categorize at all because it tickles the outside of my nose like a feather, and I would never have guessed Cetalox, although I am familiar with this substance.

Overall, the fragrance lasts 6 hours on my skin.

The sillage is designed from the beginning to be perceived well at about half an arm's length, and this is maintained for 2.5 hours before it gradually reduces until the fragrance finally fades completely.
