Woodsy vanilla
This fragrance is so odd. I was almost convinced when I sprayed this onto a spray card that I had accidently sprayed the female version instead. It's a very light scent, a lot lighter than what you'd expect from an EDT.

The top notes are indeed very fruity, but not citrusy and sour, more sweet. The base was slightly more masculine but still strangely sweet with vanilla mixed with woods.

I think this fragrance could be unisex. However, with that being said, on the right man this could smell very sexy.

Unjustly Discontinued - Fruity and Delicious
I have known this Joop for several years now, and I am taking my free time to dedicate a comment to this beautiful fragrance. I have previously emptied a 30ml bottle and currently have an almost full one in my collection. Almost full, thankfully, since it has been discontinued. Unjustly, in my opinion. The Joop brand has many good fragrances available at affordable prices. Besides the all-time classic Joop Homme, I really like the fruity scents Go, Jump, and also Thrill. Modern, young, dynamic, and above all uncomplicated.

The bottle is rather simple, but in a beautiful red. The only size I have ever seen was 30ml. I have searched everywhere but never found a larger size. A pity, even though smaller sizes certainly have many advantages.
One thing upfront: I find the performance rating here strange. Some H/S are rated higher, while in the designer category, they are often underrated. This Thrill really projects strongly on me, and the longevity is in the double-digit range.
Bought for the first time a few years ago and worn often: The scent simply has that certain something for me. Especially on colder days, it was a great companion. Specifically among fruity scents, it is one of my favorites. It has a wonderful fruity note that smells like a mix of apple and cherry. Along with the dominant fruity note, warm notes like amber and vanilla add a good weight to this fragrance. Not too heavy, yet. Soft woods are also present. A great combination of sweet, fruity, and woody notes. Never too much, while the performance is outstanding.

Unfortunately unjustly discontinued. Among the Joops, it is one of my favorites. Especially as a transitional fragrance, it is a nice alternative with a lot of individuality.

More Chiller than Thriller
Having always appreciated Joop as a brand (e.g. suits) and finding some of their perfumes great and owning a few (highlight: Joop Homme), I had to finally test the extremely cheap Thrill from 2009 that is currently on clearance. I don't know if it is really being discontinued, but it is definitely a bargain right now and a good perfume as well. Unfortunately, it has borrowed a bit too many ideas and is far from the brand's highlights. Still: very pleasant and beginner-friendly!

It strongly reminds me of Le Male or, in apple-like notes, also of Boss Bottled. Just tamer, calmer, chilled, cozy, warm, and simply made - anything but a thrill! This juice was never intended as a serious successor to Joop Homme. More on the Go or Jump level, perhaps even a bit more intimate.

It starts with a big, red apple and soothing lavender. The latter has so many facets - and none of them have disappointed me so far. Simply great stuff, this lavender, and very dependent on its concentration. In the underbrush, the woods slowly creep up on the wearer, making the scent a bit more masculine and drier. Here, you can already tell that it is not necessarily a party fragrance. More of a feel-good and everyday scent. In the drydown, there is dried sandalwood-vanilla and a bit of sweet amber. A sweet fellow, without being intrusive. Kind of like Le Male Apple Light.

The bottle is typically Joop: simple yet striking and eye-catching, almost comic-like. Cool in a way. The sillage was in the medium range, and with a longevity of 6-7 hours, I can just about live with that.

Nice, but quickly forgotten. Unfortunately, the similar competition is overwhelming.

Cherry-Pie
Joop! has long been a great brand. The German avant-gardists in the mainstream sector. Not always mass-appealing, even though the masses have worn the fragrances. Always somehow special. Often sweet and heavy, long-lasting and somewhat unpredictable. Strongly polarizing. However, it has become a bit less so now. Either they have adapted or the mainstream has come closer to Joop! Does this fragrance still offer a thrill?

You immediately recognize the scent as a typical Joop! representative. A bright red box with the characteristic lettering. The bottle follows the lines and facets of the classic "Joop! Homme," but is slimmer and more upright, bright red with a massive silver cap. A beautiful bottle, fits well in the hand, looks good in the collection.

The fragrance hits you right away in the familiar way! It is sweet, very sweet, sugary sweet, fruity sweet. However, for me, it’s less about the announced apple and more about cherry. There are notes of caramel and vanilla. Fresh accents or even lavender do not appear for me. Instead, there are soft and warm woods. For me, it’s a wonderful blend, somehow like an American cherry pie, fruity, caramelized, slightly bitter, garnished with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. Opulent, perhaps ten to twenty percent too much of everything, maybe with a slightly artificial note typical for America.

The performance of this fragrance is thus strong as usual for Joop! The sillage is more than noticeable, filling the room, only suitable for the office with moderate use. The longevity is correspondingly high, easily lasting throughout the day, and even the next day, remnants are still clearly perceptible on skin and clothing. For a men's fragrance, it might be a bit sweet, but in my opinion, it is still very wearable with the accompanying self-confidence. But the fragrance always reflects the personality of the wearer.

I love Cherry-Pie, I love this fragrance. We didn’t seek each other out, but we found each other! Wearing this fragrance is not a thrill for me, but for my surroundings, it sometimes is. ;)

Good concept, poorly executed
After the big hit Joop Homme and the piercingly distinct Nightflight, the Joop perfume brand took a significant downturn. They are known for typical designer fragrances that are primarily characterized by apparently inexpensive ingredients. At some point, it was all about quick money. The situation with perfumes is somewhat similar to culinary delights. Even a top chef can't create anything decent from frozen goods, canned foods, and dried herbs.

However, the approach of Thrill is not so bad. It is a somewhat simplified Le Male note, smelling somewhat like gasoline or tar. This usually opulent note is literally dried out by a lot of sandalwood. The dry impression is supported by lavender, which gives the fragrance a nice, floating aura, as well as the note referred to as "apple." I perceived it more as a kind of mint (apple mint?). It is ethereal and fresh and long-lasting.

Thrill is an interesting approach for a kind of Le Male light, quite wearable even in summer…

… if only the perfumer had been given a slightly higher budget. The whole thing is scratchy from start to finish. You can't really sniff it on the skin; it only works at a bit of a distance.

I find that disappointing and frustrating. With better base materials, this could have been a respectable fragrance.

Fruity-sweet in a subtle way, but quite unremarkable to my nose! It definitely lacks the signature something!

I associate so many beautiful memories with this scent.
Unfortunately discontinued. Fruity - sweet - lightly woody but never too strong. H/S fits.

2 years after Go!, 4 years after Jump! came Thrill. It's different from its predecessors and nice, but too artificial and lacking real flair.

I don't quite understand the opinions .. I think the scent is great for the colder months, autumn/winter, and I find the sillage very strong.

A very synthetic sweet fruity scent without any unique features - there are better options in this fragrance category.
