Chestnut manias
The original "Wow!" has put Joop back on track, on the map. Even if it is certainly no qualitative overhit now, it is still more than wearable, a fine tip for beginners, far above the level of previous Joop gherkins. Now the more intensive EdP variant has come under my nose...

... and he can do even more! It is a very cinnamon, brown-creamy flatterer, perfect for autumn and winter. Similar to the original, but with more depth, darkness and texture. If I had to choose between the two, I would definitely take this slightly grimmer cousin. Still no revelation, very straightforward, simple and hardly changing - but then you know at least what you have. A little nutty, a little spicy, very iris-powdery. The base is super beautiful, but somehow also super boring. Nevertheless: "Wow!" doesn't do 100% justice to his name, but I would wear it anytime with joy. And chestnuts are so clearly recognizable that you won't find them in a (men's) perfume every day. Not edgy but grown up, not totally unsweet but never sugary-pappy-cheap, nothing totally new but still with enough own character. Joop can be tested again!

Flacon: darker and just as boring as the original. But solid sprayer. After all.
Sillage: something for the Christmas market. You (unfortunately) often need elbows.
Durability: remains and works... not as long as I thought. 4-5 hours

Conclusion: (even) better, denser, more autumnal than the original. A creamy dream of cinnamon and cashmeran. Cuddly and soft. To find a more beautiful Joop, you have to travel far back in time...

Quality is what pleases. Exler, Georg-Wilhelm
The first wow was quite pleasing and was already well perceptible. This more intense one is one step better in durability and rounds off the pleasant side of the orange and cinnamon The Intense wave does not always have to be bad. Here Joop is doing a pretty good job again besides his absolute homme. The ingredients are all harmonious and from strength to eight hours very well perceptible. The warmth is ideal for the beginning of winter, and the freshness with the vetiver is also only positive. For a fragrance in the mid-price segment, it has a much higher quality appearance.
The strong durability is perhaps a little boring, since it does not develop very much. It remains sweet from the beginning to the end, yet still spicy, which may not be deep enough for fragrance poets. For all others it is enough and makes you want to wear it again.
Joop has done everything right in 2019 on the men's side, let's see what we can expect in 2020 from the much too often reviled brand Joop again.

Very helpful Review 6
Joop can do it again...
I got this fragrance as a present today and wasn't happy about it at first. Giving away fragrances is such a thing, that can go neat in the pants. But not this time. I'm totally thrilled!
First a brief introduction to the name: Terms à la Intense, Sport, Extreme etc. are now simply common, and there has now been enough blasphemy about them. Point.
The scent: the original "wow" DNA is recognizable, combined with a slight sweetness, which is not annoying, but, presumably by the vetiver, skillfully intercepted. The mainstream tonka bean will be used in the further course, but I also like that very much here. Durability and projection are worthy of an EdP, and there have been compliments, but from the lady who gave it to me. Not quite neutral, but no matter ;-).

"Autumn is here and I'm in love." - Kamand Kojouri
On Youtube you can currently scroll through countless toplists a la "best fall scents for men", starting with everybody's darling Jeremy, Gents Scents, Demi Rawling, Redolessence up to Max Forti and many less known people. These lists pray down the usual mainstream suspects more or less depending on the author, like Spicebomb Extreme, Azzaro Wanted by Night, Stronger with you, Ultramale and others. But there are also pearls that I wouldn't have thought of, like Azzaro pour Homme Amber Fever or Issey Miyake's Nuit d'Issey Noir Argent. So eyes closed and through!
The scents of the cooler season with their sweet, heavier, sometimes gourmand notes create for me, in contrast to the summer freshls, more tangible atmosphere and heady cinema. Whether I'm strolling around the Christmas market with Spicebomb, grilling Replica by the Fireplace Marshmellows at the campfire or exploring an Indian spice shop with DSquared's Potion, I simply like to be carried away by scents to another place and let my soul dangle. Layton apple strudel
Wow! for Men EdP Intense is one of those representatives that I miss in the top lists mentioned above. Mainstream, but not really widespread (currently only one entry in the souk), pleasing, but with recognition value, yes, almost a niche somewhere. Actually only three notes play really loud here. There's chestnut, which sets the tone over the entire course, there's cinnamon - the sweet variety, and cashmeran, which freshens up the fragrance and intercepts the sweetness. This trio lets me walk through an autumnal forest on a sunny afternoon and nibble on chestnuts. The orange note, which accompanies the first half of the trail in particular, clearly sets the fragrance apart from the heavier winter sweets like Spicebomb or Stronger with You, making it an ideal candidate for autumn. Wow! Intense is harmoniously composed, the fragrance develops harmoniously, and none of its phases are annoying, although it lasts a long time and is clearly perceptible by the environment. It is Ü20 universally wearable, only for formal meetings I would rather go for one of the guerlains. A round composition, which, if it didn't have JOOP on it, could be sold for more than 30 EUR per 40ml. The presentation is minimalist: metallized bottle with an economical atomizer and plastic ring instead of a cap. But I like the play of colours extremely well and communicates excellently what you experience after spraying on the bottle.
Wow! Intense embodies for me like no other fragrance a positive autumn feeling, which I like to pass on and perceive myself. A blind buy or at least a test candidate!

Joop! Meh! Intense
Joop! Wow! Intense I acquired a long time ago, that is, before Parfumo. I smelled the edT on my father and then had to buy it myself. Since I assumed at that time that all flankers smell the same, just stronger or weaker, I bought the Intense version. "Then I have the same fragrance, only intense just!" I thought to myself in my naïve and buying joyful way.
Now, a few experiences richer and the subject of fragrances at least a little more competently approaching, as that was the case at the time of purchase of this fragrance, I have to say that the initial euphoria has evaporated.
Joop Wow! Intense does not need to hide, but a recommendation I can not express here. The reason is, as with many very sweet designers, that they lack character.
I have more and more the impression to smell the same sweet Plörre, just packaged differently.

"Here we make it a little flashier and sweeter, here we make it a little darker and more mysterious and here we make One Million 2.0 and so on and so forth. And so that no one notices how messy we actually tune something or how cheap our ingredients actually are, we bang sugar in there to no end. That works with Coke, iced tea and Co. yes also."
- Brilliant, Wolfgang!

That's also okay, because these fragrances have their market and I do not find that they smell bad - just not particularly, which is why I can not quite understand the rating of 8.2.
A fragrance of this type is enough in the collection, provided that one wants to keep this particularly small or no special history or past with the fragrance connects. Many have this history with the Joop! Homme disdained by me, while I must confess to feel these nostalgic feelings of happiness with One Million.
Yes I know, ashes on my head, but that's just the way it is.

On the fragrance experience: please don't expect a fine analysis of a highly complex fragrance here. He is not, in my opinion, and if that were the case, there would still be the problem that I have glazed chestnuts as a central fragrance note not in the nose, which is probably also due to the failure of the Christmas markets. I try it you therefore something to classify, so that you get an idea of the sweetness.
The sweetness is very present. You should like sweet scents as a main theme and just not only as a secondary accompaniment. Spiciness does not stand out here clearly, unless you feel sweet cinnamon as spicy, where you probably also assign the note salt rather maritime, aquatic nuances and not declared as a prime example of spiciness. However, the sweetness is kept more in check than is the case with the utterly overloaded Joop! Homme, plus this doesn't radiate as garishly as One Million does. Small plus point compared to the absolute average of these fragrances.
Salvatore's Ferragamo Uomo Signature, on the other hand, which I put in the same fragrance group, I would describe as significantly darker - For sweet fragrances, with no clearly identifiable notes at least. The scent progression remains quite linear, with an unpleasant alcoholic note poking me in the nose in the first five minutes, but which then settles.
Durability and sillage can be seen, a monster is the fragrance yet not. In addition, the scent smells lying in the air a little more pleasant, but that's nothing special.
In the bottle, I like at most the shape. The not visible bronze bottle, the spray head, as well as the ring cap, are in my opinion really failed.
Compliments are to be expected here in the average framework, as with all "Spezis" of this kind, price-wise, the fragrance performs neither bad nor right with this composition.
Thanks for reading!
