Chestnut manias
The original "Wow!" has put Joop back on track, on the map. Even if it is certainly no qualitative overhit now, it is still more than wearable, a fine tip for beginners, far above the level of previous Joop gherkins. Now the more intensive EdP variant has come under my nose...
... and he can do even more! It is a very cinnamon, brown-creamy flatterer, perfect for autumn and winter. Similar to the original, but with more depth, darkness and texture. If I had to choose between the two, I would definitely take this slightly grimmer cousin. Still no revelation, very straightforward, simple and hardly changing - but then you know at least what you have. A little nutty, a little spicy, very iris-powdery. The base is super beautiful, but somehow also super boring. Nevertheless: "Wow!" doesn't do 100% justice to his name, but I would wear it anytime with joy. And chestnuts are so clearly recognizable that you won't find them in a (men's) perfume every day. Not edgy but grown up, not totally unsweet but never sugary-pappy-cheap, nothing totally new but still with enough own character. Joop can be tested again!
Flacon: darker and just as boring as the original. But solid sprayer. After all.
Sillage: something for the Christmas market. You (unfortunately) often need elbows.
Durability: remains and works... not as long as I thought. 4-5 hours
Conclusion: (even) better, denser, more autumnal than the original. A creamy dream of cinnamon and cashmeran. Cuddly and soft. To find a more beautiful Joop, you have to travel far back in time...
