Another Kenzo weirdo!
Kenzo Jungle Homme opens with a really peculiar, distinctive and to me totally pleasant accord composed by a sort of odd spicy-green-fruity blend, much aromatic and slightly milky, with sharp lime notes juxtaposed to a creamy, fruity, slightly synthetic feel of tropical fruits (banana, a bit of coconut too), enhanced by carnation and spices – notably nutmeg and cloves. Beyond this, a perfectly-blended note of sandalwood, which is quite sweet and creamy as well. Overall the name fits this scent perfectly, as it is quite an exotic and bizarre Oriental scent which surely conjures a “jungle” mood. What I admire the most is the effort to create something less usual than predictable “green-forest” clichés, trying to evoke a whole “raw nature” ambiance – spices, woods, leaves, even a sort of aqueous-mineral feel. The opening is quite bold, then it suddenly tones down to a nutty-citrus green and creamy blend with a prominent sandalwood note, all well wrapped up in a sort of “balsamic” creaminess that tames down both the fruity-sweet side, and the spices, avoiding to become either “too gourmand” or too spiced. Totally creative and distinctive, but well balanced and restrained enough to be perfectly safe, pleasant and unisex in any circumstance. Finally, on the drydown it becomes more quiet, more gentle and more dry, with spices and woods (cedar too) emerging to the point of bringing Jungle Homme almost close to a woody fougère territory – still with a balmy-sweet Oriental vibe all over, also with distant echoes of Opium pour Homme. A bit synthetic (this meaning “cheap”) here and there, but really nice and creative, also smelling fairly “niche” (in the positive meaning).

A long time coming
I purchased Kenzo Jungle PH in 2009, when I was early in my fragrance hobby. I must have found a good deal on it from some now-defunct website. I'm not sure what I paid, but whatever it was, when I revisit this scent in 2023, I can't help but feel I got it for a steal.

I remember the reviews at the time being divisive, and thinking, "if it's not good, it'll at least be interesting." For me, being boring is a bigger sin than being bad. And I'm sure I needed to add something to get free shipping. Almost 15 years ago, I remember trying this and being blown away - but not in a good way. It had this aggressive, almost headache-inducing vibe. Smells that I didn't think went together - the nutmeg and citrus up top, the mate and cinnamon bomb in the middle, and the woods underneath. I didn't wear it much, but I didn't dislike it. I was finding myself and finding where I felt comfortable pushing the envelope.

Fast forward to 2023, and I find my bottle in tact - 14 years and 8 moves later - and I give it a spray. Immediately, I got it. I loved it. It needed it's time, but It's one of my absolute favorite fragrances in my collection. It's an experience, and it is travel in a bottle. I am taken to places that may not exist in our world, but do in my mind.

9/10 - more interesting than half of my bottles that are 5x more expensive. It's warm and inviting, while being exotic and interesting. It's not the bottle for a 90 degree day, but it's a solid 3 season smell - when you want to go somewhere different.

The original Spicebomb!
A spicy, but still subtle oriental featuring nutmeg, cedar, creamy guaiac wood and sandalwood with added benzoine. Rich, sweet and slightly floral.

Opening with lime - a bold and somewhat surprising move for an oriental - on a note of mate, settling on nutmeg and some sweet, powdery woods. Overall, it's rather linear. Longevity and projection are average, but very fitting for this type of scent.

Although I find it quite different from others I've tried from the Kenzo line (where most are either aquatic or have an asian "bamboo-feel" to it that are mostly suited for warmer weather), this is a surprisingly nice fragrance that shines in colder temperatures.

Very Unique Composition
It's a great fragrance, Elegant, Classy, Sophisticated. I blind - bought this hidden gem base on positive comments. I checked reviews on YouTube, Special thanks to : Scent Land and Gents Scents. This perfume has an unusual and a very strange Opening , It smells like pencil shavings but dry down is very wonderful ! It opens up with like warm spicy then dry down is semi sweet woody. It has a unique composition. This is perfect for the spring and fall. The art of bottle design is very beautiful. I love Kenzo Jungle Homme EDT.
Bravo Monsieur Cresp !
Two Thumbs Up.

I love it…
My first teenage designer perfume! I’ve kept it in a 5ml bottle for years.I’m sure i’ve gone through more than five bottles of this perfume. Even today, I get goosebumps when I smell it. Such a simple and beautiful fragrance, so many beautiful memories awaken when I catch a whiff of it.
But unfortunately, after owning many niche creations and developing my taste, I don’t think I’d wear it again, and it would feel very weak to me now!
No matter what, I always look forward to smelling it, and for me, the scent is a solid 10/10.

This is a rollercoaster. A fresh and invigorating opening of lime and tea (Maté) with spices, mainly nutmeg and a great woody base. Wow!

I don't care too much for the fresh opening, but do really like the dusty, soft spicy-woody drydown. Unfortunately this is very soft on me.

Very pleasant fragrance. Unique but versatile. I only wish it was a bit stronger and lasted longer. But definitely great as a scent!

Still great. Wonderful lime, nice spices, slightly physical, sweet and warm base of resin and wood.

Nutmeg + lime are clearly noticeable, tea, dry cinnamon, resinous wood, everything blends into a warm-spicy harmony. I like it better than the women's version.

Musk-powdered licorice, anise-like, ginger-fresh, resinous. Not a rainforest, but an urban jungle: a dry breeze in the summer heat. Good!

Zesty sour, fresh vs. warm spicy, sweet woody. A heavyweight battle of lime & nutmeg in a ring of dry wood shavings. Exciting & unisex.
