Watery apple

When I first sprayed on Kajal Masa, I thought that it also sort of smelled like Christmas tree, but it was a very bright, fruity kind of pine with some spicy woods. The brightness spice and woods quickly receded though, and within half an hour, the fruity aspect was all that was left. After that, it just got waterier and waterier over time until all that was left was watery non-descript fruit. If you asked me, I would have guessed apple. I suppose it could be mirabelle plum, sure.

On my husband, I thought the opening smelled similar but he didn't get the impression of Christmas tree like I did. The progression was quite similar though he ends up with a less watery and sweeter non-descript fruit.

Neither of us got the vast majority of the listed notes, certainly not the ginger which we hoped for.

Sillage was noticeable, especially for the first 6 hours, with whiffs every time I moved the arm it was sprayed on. It gets closer to the skin the longer it's been on, but it's easily detectable on both my husband and I 10hrs in.

Sprayed on from brand sample out of Scent Club Mystery Kit #1. Worn about 10hrs at time of writing.

That's the way to live

A hot day on the Mediterranean, cicadas chirping, pine trees rustling,
At lunchtime, the sun glares and we listen to the sea.

Under a blue sky, it's siesta time and we thirst for refreshment,
Juicy, sweet grapefruits quench our thirst, what a sweet and tart mixture.

In the shade of the veranda, orange blossoms of old trees rustle, blowing,
With ginger lemonade on the lips, the blue sea can be seen.

Down to the beach, the sun glistens on the waves,
Our toes in the warm sand, we lick ice cream made from mirabelle plums.

Cardamom oil cools and protects our tanned skin,
The fresh scent of the sea wafts around the hair on our heads.

Driftwood washed up on the white beach, drying in the sun,
Violets blooming on the promenade, this day, what a delight.

Back we go through fields full of vetiver, always towards the sun,
The evening cools down the senses, that's the way to live.

Kajal's Masa evokes wonderful associations of carefree vacation days in the Mediterranean. A fresh and above all fruity opening of fleshy grapefruit, sweet mirabelle plums and a little spicy ginger is paired with slightly aquatic notes, cool cardamom and a hint of petitgrain. The aquatic notes are not too overpowering, but rather resonate in the background and provide a pleasant background noise. As it progresses, the proportion of fruit decreases only minimally and always remains a present element. Towards the end, subtle woody notes paired with a little violet shimmer through and give the fragrance a little more depth. A few final vetiver notes round off the whole thing at the end. What is really exciting here is that we are dealing with a slightly different approach for an aquatic and the mirabelle note in particular brings about a really nice twist.

Kajal can simply do something!

The Masa smells really nice. A fruity fragrance with a light freshness at the beginning and a great sweetness. Over time, it becomes more spicy, but pleasantly spicy.

The fragrance starts with a great grapefruit that plays with mirabelle plum.
There is also some bergamot and ginger. A certain sweetness is also immediately noticeable. A slightly creamy sweetness.

As the fragrance progresses, it even retains a certain freshness. It feels even more aquatic in its lines.
However, this fruity sweetness that the fragrance possesses is retained quite well.
It now also gains some spice. Cardamom sets in, which I find really beautiful.

Towards the end, the fruitiness is lost somewhat, a vanilla sweetness remains and it also gains more woody impressions.

I have smelled something like this or something similar, but I can no longer remember every fragrance.

The performance is really good! Durability and sillage do not hide.

Unique fruity fragrance

Kajal once again. I tested this fragrance a few months ago and bought it recently. The cool thing about some of this brand's bottles is that some of their fragrances come with samples of other fragrances from this brand. With this Masa, for example, it was Almaz, Lamar and Dahab. It's a cool idea that other brands could take a leaf out of their book. It's also good advertising. I already had all 3, but samples are always great for when you're on the go and here they were also beautifully packaged. I discovered this Masa in the same way and found it quite interesting. Not a typical Everybody's Darling like many others from this brand, but this one has something. It would be less of a blind buy as it is quite unique and special. A great unisex fragrance that is accompanied by great aquatics. I also particularly like the fruity notes of this brand as they are simply so lively and full of life. However, this mix is a little wilder here and you get a wide range of fragrance styles.

In terms of price, this brand is really good, especially as you can often get them between 30-50% below the RRP. Over 200€ for this masa would have been too expensive for me though. Otherwise, it's worth the money for people who like these fruity, sophisticated notes.
The box and bottle are of course a real eye-catcher. The lid is just really beautiful with these little stones and this green bottle is also a sight to behold. The box is also an eye-catcher, but rather inexpensive for this price range.
The top note of this Masa is just to my taste: sparkling grapefruit with a very special and unique mirabelle plum note. This beautiful spicy-fresh ginger spice also fits perfectly into this fruity freshness. After 1-2 hours, this great aquatic heart opens up and somehow greenish notes also make themselves known. Patchouli and cardamom give the whole thing some edge, but this fragrance retains its freshness. For many, this fragrance DNA could be too "jumbled" and inharmonious. I like this creative, headstrong creation. The base ends with lots of woody notes and also a warm sweetness of vanilla amber, which is not too heavy. All in all, a great creation that somehow inspires me with its unique style.
Performance is really good, like almost everything from this brand. The sillage is perfectly dosed for fragrances of this type and is easy to wear, even in everyday life. Lasts easily for 8 hours or even 10 hours. A fragrance that can lighten the mood with this fruity light-heartedness and is therefore really good for the day, job or simply in your free time.

Overall, a great fruity fragrance that is very wildly designed and this makes it interesting for me. Stands out from the crowd and should be tested before buying. Otherwise, a clear recommendation from me.
