Very short lasting
I received an official Kolada sample and have been excited to try this one. I’m not a fan of Kajal, and while I did love Äican I still found it too heavy and a bit too masculine for me personally. I also find their bottles quite cheap and gaudy looking for the price, but maybe they’re nicer in person.

Kolada is a disappointing surprise so far. Where Kajal fragrances are usually very long lasting, this one disappears within 5 minutes on me. I’m surprised some found this lasted hours, because on me this was piss poor! No silage or projection. I get the classic Kajal dna in the immediate opening, with pineapple and coconut. It’s a creamy, fruity scent, but there isn’t much else going on. It lasted only a few minutes before I could only smell it faintly, and I did overspray. It just isn’t worth £200

Spraying Kolada next to Amore Torrido they smell identical. Amore Torrido is a scent I don’t like as it reminds me of warm fruit spoiling in the heat of the sun. So while I liked Kolada initially and thought it was a gorgeous virgin pina colada scent, it’s now a pass for me. I’ll stick with Narco Oasis and Leisure in Paradise

Pineapple in the Head
First things first: If you really love it sickly sweet, packed with pineapple and lots of cream, along with a very rich note of coconut, then you are absolutely in the right place here.

An extremely sweet fragrance that smells like a hearty Pina Colada and truly rocks summer and heat. That's how it is! Kolada is made for such moments. However, it is definitely too sweet for me, because when I wear it, I only have pineapple in my head. It practically echoes in me, but there are people who really go wild for this kind of thing. During the weeks I tested it, I was often approached. Even twice by strangers who were blown away by this sweet scent that practically draws sweet glances towards you.

But there isn't much artistry behind it. For me, it is simply sweet from beginning to end... packed with a strong note of pineapple, surrounded by coconut, which smoothly blend together and slide into the heart in an extremely creamy way. In the background, there is only a very faint touch of flowers to be heard. In the end, it has a slightly sandy, sweetly embraced powdery note.

Both the sillage and longevity could definitely have more oomph, because the fragrance doesn't quite deliver as it seems at first contact. For its sweetness, it is rather restrained when it comes to taking over a person or a room.

The bottle is, of course, a matter of taste, but known for Kajal, it comes with a heavy cap.
Personally, I stick to the usual drink (Pina Colada) and prefer to gift the bottle to someone who can't get enough of pineapple.

Golden Coconut Dreams: Kolada - The Piña Colada in a Spray
With "Kolada | Kajal," Kajal brings a true summer flirt in flacon form to the market; shimmering gold, tropical, and sensual like a luxurious cocktail on a white sandy beach; it perfectly embodies the feeling of an ice-cold Piña Colada in the evening sun. Now, to be honest, the flacon initially caught my attention massively, but after many coconut scents, I was tired; either too feminine, too milky, too sweet, too heavy, or simply unbearable. Everything was there, but little good.

So, how does Kolada smell?
- First of all, before I start: I don’t understand who gives such reviews about performance. First, it’s a kind of fragrance DNA that usually shouldn’t project that extremely strong. Secondly, it feels like everyone expects fragrances to be on steroids, everything has to hit like Maison-Crivelli, blast out. For me, that’s absolutely incomprehensible, it’s not a performance beast, but it’s sufficient enough... and yes, just reapply. Perfume is a luxury, and not every spray needs to "pay off" in terms of projecting for 15 hours; at least not with summer scents.

- Now, onto the opening; this is a really zesty-fruity explosion; juicy ripe pineapple meets a delicate citrus breeze, accompanied by tropical fruity notes that truly evoke beach bar feelings. It smells like you’re indulging in the first sip of a well-mixed cocktail; chilled, sweet, but also with an elegant zest. Definitely uplifting.

- After that, the Kajal-specific floral company DNA comes through. Here with lily of the valley and violet, they swing like a light sea breeze through the tropical sweetness and give the fragrance a lovely airy-powdery-floral DNA, a successful floral cut after this zesty-fruity opening. The coconut is slowly making its way in.

- In the drydown, the coconut really comes into its own, creamy, warm, but not overly sweet, not milky, but beautifully embedded in this fruity-floral context. The coconut is also carried by a certain warmth that comes from the amber, slightly resinous-sweet in interplay with the benzoin, like the sugar rim of a cocktail glass.

In summary, a truly beautiful, sweet-fruity-creamy all-rounder that will find its friends in summer, but for me is almost wearable year-round. Maybe avoid it in excessively high temperatures, but somehow the creaminess with the sweetness and freshness is actually quite well balanced. The beauty of Kolada is effectively the fact that it doesn’t smell like a cheap sticky pineapple-coconut drink from a can, but like a beautiful Piña Colada, natural, sweet, creamy, fruity.

... I can confidently recommend it for a test :)

Piña Colada
Who doesn't know it: browsing the new releases on the Parfumo homepage and immediately getting wide-eyed. Sometimes it's love at first sight, and the blind buy is already pre-programmed. That's how it was for me with this Kajal. This brand and I just fit together, and I can say that this is one of my favorite brands. Additionally, I was looking for a high-end fragrance in the Piña Colada style. It's easy to recognize that this is the concept from the bottle, name, and also this great pyramid. The blind buy happened because I was sure that this brand could execute it very well, as these fruity notes are among the most beautiful on the entire market for me. The pineapple note was already present in the "Lamar | Kajal," which I liked very much. Here, of course, is a tropical scent inspired by the well-known cocktail. This fragrance absolutely met my expectations and is exactly how I imagined it. I'm happy that I bought this for the current warm months and well below the RRP of €240. The RRP is still relatively fair as you get an extremely noble summer cocktail here.

You can only get the bottle from this brand in 100ml. I naturally love these bottles, and each one is somehow a work of art. Here, the design is in a tropical style, fitting for the fragrance. The cap is also always quite cool. The boxes are always very stylish, though for niche perfumes, the packaging is rather simple.
Of course, I am excited to be the first to write in detail about this fragrance. The scent offers a wonderfully authentic pineapple note, which fits perfectly into the fruity range of this brand and is also a great signature of this brand. Other fruits seem to emerge lightly, and the coconut note from the base is, of course, present throughout, fitting this Piña Colada DNA. If you want this cocktail as a fragrance without smelling cheap: Here it is! This scent is uplifting, and these wonderful creamy notes are well conveyed. The floral notes are very subtle and create a lovely heart note. This cocktail DNA with a lot of creaminess is always in the foreground. This coconut note smells truly noble, which is not the case for all fragrances with this note. A great, rather linear composition that offers what you expect. As it develops further, this fragrance becomes sweeter and creamier. Amber and benzoin also come through for this warm base at the end. A very harmonious unisex fragrance that I immediately embraced. It shines best in summer, during leisure time, and in the evening. This cocktail vibe is simply wonderful.
Performance for me is better than what a few reviews have already rated. Longevity is over 10 hours for me, although the last hours are, of course, more intimate. The sillage is simply top-notch in the first few hours and is always present, bringing good mood and a smile to the face. A feel-good fragrance.

Overall, for me, one of the best purchases of this year. A fragrance that I will wear often in the warmer months of this year. Anyone who likes this Piña Colada DNA should definitely test this. A blind buy here is also not such a big risk, especially for a good price.

Summer, Sun, Beach Bar… A Pina Colada, please!
You sit at the beach bar, a warm breeze blowing through your hair. The sound of the sea in the background.
The waiter asks what I would like to order.
I say: I would like a Pina Colada.
The waiter leaves and comes back with a cocktail on the tray.
I can only smell pineapple. Now the coconut comes… I can't resist the scent and take a sip…
You can taste this fragrance. It is a little dream that has now come true. My absolute favorite among summer fragrances.

Like a sugary pineapple compote! Pina kolada vibes but more of an ambery gourmand interpretation of that scent profile.

Tropical unisex perfume, but much more feminine. Nothing innovative or amazing. Interesting performance in the heat.

Pina Colada in perfume form. So creamy, sweet, creamy + fruity. Makes you crave a summer cocktail. But smelling like it hours later? Not really.
