It seems Unfinished

I don't know, something is missing on this LM Creation. It feels for me more like an sketch than a real fragrance and it lacks something that it makes it original. I cannot get this painting association, so i must assume that it's more related with LM friend friend. He or she might like something very mainstream and with a polished rose, which is what Vol d'Hirondelle smells like to me. It simple, it starts with boozy roses with herbal touches and citrus aromas and then it goes into a base where woody vetiver and musk share the spot. Certainly it captures what i would associate with the windy movement of swallow birds, but it lacks the dark aura that it's associated with the picture the link the fragrance with. Not bad, but not great either.

With ease at the ground

I usually like heavy, sweet, gourmand, woody fragrances. Usually I try to avoid fragrances on the fresh (and especially citrus and fougère) side, with one lovely exception Aqua Fiorentina. VOL D'HIRONDELLE is very much alike in feeling, and Aqua Fiorentina has only a bit bigger place in my heart, solely on the right of primacy, since I sampled it half year earlier than Vol d'Hirondelle. Those, who like Batucada, this one can be also appealing.

To come to the point: This scent is light, fresh, contains crumbled green leaves with citrusses. Even though it is spicy, it is always natural and near-earth (but not earthy at all), I am struggling how to unfold it, that it touches air, water and ground as well, maybe I should describe it as a real forrest-fragrance.
I have not sniffed any flowery ulterior motive in the complex cloud. It never gets too sweet, and keeps the distance from the extremes of gender, so I could call it a well-balanced unisex perfume.

The Cheerful Summer Night.

Translated, Vol d'Hirondelle means "Swallow Flight."
While I don't associate this perfume with a swallow, the impressions that come to mind are from a bird's-eye view. Funny.
This scent evokes the beginning of an evening in a lively small town on the Mediterranean coast. The day was hot, and life really starts to come alive with the setting sun.
Music plays between the small old houses with their heat-cracked tiled roofs, along with the clinking of street food dishes, laughing women, and shouting children.
The olfactory impressions that the heat has drawn from the herbs and trees blend with the cool evening air and the spices of the prepared dishes.
A packed, multi-layered scent of
bitter and dark green shrubs, citrus is hidden beneath various other ingredients and rather evokes a dark, heavy freshness. The floral hints are present but authentic, of a woody nature. Lightly creamy musk mingles with smoky, earthy notes and is surrounded by a slightly fruity touch, it could be fig. The spices are by no means heavy, rather creating a feeling of sandy ground.
A perfume that conveys the summer feeling in a different way. No aquatic notes, no tea, no pure citrus, no clean scent. The summer association is transported through a light spicy, woody fragrance. Here we have the cooled scent of a summer day full of work and the relaxed, joyful liberation from it as the sun sets.
These are my favorite summer fragrances, as they fit perfectly into this time; they are rooted in summer and evoke the most images in me.

The one that makes me a lady even in the heat

Last year, after nearly five hours of a fragrance marathon with other perfumes at Wuchsa and in the Kurfürstenparfümerie Mannheim, my overwhelmed nose kindly lingered on "Vol d'Hirondelle" as one of the last scent samples. A week later, it was mine, and since then I've been trying to put the fragrance into words.

Today, at 35 degrees, I wear it again, and immediately I am surrounded by the feeling of a light breeze, and I no longer feel sweaty, but rather a bit "ladylike." The "Swallow Flight" (as its translation goes) is not a fragrance for the cold season, but just right for hot days.

I feel transported to an Italian villa in midsummer, I open a room door, and I am enveloped in coolness. Floor-length silk, ice-blue curtains that deny heat and mostly light access billow in a cooling draft, dark old fragrant rosewood furniture exuding its own scent, a vase with rose buds on a table, a bed with snow-white linens, infused with a hint of citrus fruits inviting for a siesta. A breeze of mint wafts in from the garden, and I feel arrived, safe, and refreshed.

This is how my scent perception is with this fragrance. It is fresh yet not a clean scent, it is woody yet feminine, it is citrusy without being fruity, it is close to the body yet its aura surrounds me for hours.
It cools me without being icy and transforms the hot-blooded fairy Morgaina into almost a cool lady.
